Rise & Shine Diner — Restaurant in Graham

So this place looks a little sketchy from the outside at first…. once you get inside, it obviously was a Mexican restaurant at some point, and they have combined the Mexican restaurant with Rise and Shine. The menu has breakfast and Mexican entrées.

The service was great. The food was amazing.

However, the air conditioning was blasting in there. It was like we were inside of a walk-in freezer. I guess it could’ve been worse. It could have been hot in there so I digress.

Upon checking out, we paid with a debit card. The woman behind the counter asked what table we sat at because the waitress will not bring you a bill to pay. So when you’re finished eating, you just go up to the cash register and tell them what your table number was.

Upon checking out, our bill was $55 and some change the preset limits for tips were 18% 20% and 22%…. Had I not looked at the amount underneath the preset tipped percentages I would’ve gotten robbed blind, and I don’t want anyone else to either.

20%, which was what I was going to leave said $62.40!!!!!!!!

I called my friend back in and said am I crazy i’m no mathematician but I know 20% of $55 is definitely not $62.40….we said something to the girl behind the counter and she acted like it was no big deal and just smiled at us.

If you are leaving a tip on a credit card, please choose the other button and type in the amount of your tip and have a receipt printed emailed or text to you. Or better yet just leave the waitress cash.

Part 2 Went back and had breakfast, my wife had scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and a couple of pancakes. Bacon was tasty, pancakes were good as we're the home fries. I had scrambled eggs, bacon with home fries and a side of grits. Grits, bacon and home fries were good. Our thoughts were the scrambled 'eggs', they are from a carton, like when you get breakfast at a so-so motel. Just clumps of kinda tasting but not quite eggs. Their Omelets use real eggs, just not the scrambled. Very disappointed so that was our last time there.

Stopped in after reading the reviews and man it did not disappoint! The place is clean and bright with Fast, Polite and Courteous Service . We had Breakfast, she had a Veggie Omelette that came with Two Pancakes and I had Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, Crispy Bacon and Texas Toast. We both ordered Orange Juice. Her Omelette was as close to Perfect as they come, definitely THE BEST Omelette she's had in a Very Long time with the eggs holding a treasure of Green Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms and Cheddar Cheese and Tomatoes. Delicious!! My Scrambled Eggs we just as good, probably the Best Scrambled Eggs I've had in years too! They were Light and Fluffy along with some of the Best Home Fries around plus Tasty, Crispy Bacon with the Texas Toast. The Orange Juice came in HUGE Glasses, more than enough. We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast and the restaurant was very busy. We were greeted and sat right away. The waitress was friendly and our food came out fast. The food was good and our drinks stayed refilled.

• I had edit this post* I had previously gave 5 stars because the food was good. I don’t know what has happened in the past months but the taste of food has gone down. I have repeatedly ordered the same thing on three different occasions and even took a break in between just thinking I just went on a bad day. The steak now has no seasoning at all, is tough and taste watery. I order cheese eggs and some times I get a lot and sometimes it’s like there is no cheese at all. This was one of my regular breakfast stops in the mornings but I think I’ll let them go...
