Review of Applebee’s on Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan
I recently visited the Applebee’s located on Hill Road in Grand Blanc, Michigan, with a party of 10+. While I understand the challenges that come with serving larger groups, the behavior exhibited by the manager, Bart, was both unprofessional and unacceptable.
Upon our arrival, we had already informed the staff of our party size. We were fully aware that there might be longer wait times due to the number of guests in our group, and we were prepared to be patient. However, despite the restaurant being relatively empty, with only a few other patrons and a party of six waiting to be seated, Bart approached us with rudeness and snarky remarks about the size of our party. He made unnecessary comments regarding our inability to provide an exact headcount, even though we were already seated and ready to order.
His remarks about his staff coming and going, as well as turnover issues, were delivered in a condescending manner that made our group feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Had Bart simply approached us in a respectful way to explain potential delays due to staffing, we would have been understanding and patient. Unfortunately, his unprofessional attitude made it clear that our presence was more of an inconvenience than anything else.
In light of Bart's behavior, I made the decision for our group to leave the restaurant before ordering. Customer service, especially from management, is a key factor in dining experiences, and in this case, Bart's approach fell far below acceptable standards. Read moreI've always been an Applebee's fan but my last 3 visits have changed that. I had ordered a well done burger it was served still bloody unfortunately for me I didn't find that out until the first bite. Needless to say I sent it back. After a long wait, my husband had eaten his entire meal and was on his second beer, while I was still waiting for my replacement burger to arrive. It did arrive well done as I'd requested but was well done to the point of almost being jerky. The buns had been toasted to hockey puck status. I'm still confused to the fact that the burger I sent back was a plain burger with cheese and the burger I got back had chopped onion, green pepper and bacon on it. Knowing that cooks can have an off day we visited again this time we ordered the 4 cheese Mac n cheese with crispy chicken tenders on it. Both my husband and I had to send our meals back because the chicken was very cold like it had just been taken out of the fridge. Again another long wait to have our food heated and served. A few weeks had gone by so we try once again order the Mac n Cheese because it's always been a favorite and guess what? Not only was the chicken cold but the macaroni was drowned in that sauce they normally drizzle over the top making the who meal soupy. I'm gonna have to go with 3 strikes you're out. Read moreJust had the worst experience I have ever had. Our waitress was amazing checked on us frequently made sure our meal was everything we wanted. We said my drink was made with to much sour so I spoke with the bar tender and she blamed the waitress for making a bad drink? Not sure how someone that delivers the order made it incorrectly. So it was remade the way it was supposed to be made due to the bartender had to read off a cheat sheet to make a long Island correctly. Then I asked to speak with the manager that still since I have been eating has not made any rounds to any guests to see how there time at the location was doing he was just sitting in the back or not to be seen blaming and belittling his staff. Then our waitress comes back almost in tears because the managers said it's not working out for her at the position? So the bartender makes a mistake and the manager can't take responsibility for faulty training. Management is supposed to correct and uplift and help and create a positive atmosphere not fire and yap orders. This manager Bart needs to be reprimanded and held accountable and our waitress needs to be complimented and praised.
