My husband and I have been to Brick Street a handful of times, and our experiences have been not too bad. The staff have always been good, the atmosphere is nice, and our food has been not too bad. We went back July 5th for dinner, and we sat outside on the patio. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday. Even inside seemed quiet. Anyways I'll get to more on that in a few minutes.
We got the Malibu coconut shrimp, and they were pretty good. I love coconut shrimp. So I would recommend them.
For our entree, my husband got the Crispy Chicken Club. It is a good sandwich. Everything about it is good. There was just one thing that I didn't like on it and my husband didn't mind but he agreed that there was too much of the Dijon mustard on it. It was like that was all he tasted. It should be a hint of the mustard, not being overpowered by it. I wasn't a huge fan of the Dijon in general. I would have liked honey mustard instead (but that is my preference). I got the Donatello Chicken Pasta. There were a few issues with it that both myself and my husband agreed on. First, the pasta was overcooked. It should be al dente with a bit of a bite. Someone with no teeth could have chewed it with no problems. The creamy sauce on it was too creamy and there was too much of it. The portion size was too much for one person. It should be reduced by half or 3/4. They could offer a smaller portion and a sharable portion, and save money. I was trying to get through eating the pasta as best I could. We brought home leftovers, and what pasta is left, we will probably pull out, and my husband is going to thin the sauce out a bit, add some spinach to it and some proper cooked pasta and we can split it over a couple days for dinner with a nice salad on the side.
We also agreed that the menu could be reduced a bit. Keep a couple things that the "regulars" enjoy to keep them coming back, but add some new entrees in the summer to take full advantage of great summer vegetables etc. Justin suggestion.
So anyways, back to the outside. We got there a little after 8pm, and again, it was really quiet. Aside from the guy who was performing on the little stage. But they closed at 10pm, and during the summer time it's just getting dark. They basically don't have the opportunity to turn on the outside patio lights and let people enjoy the atmosphere. They need to stay open longer during the summer on Friday and Saturday, and take full advantage of that nice patio with the two stages and do a summer concert series. Have some of the patio be empty and let people dance and have a good time with some nice music playing. Have some nice summer cocktails and just have fun. Again, it's a great patio, and really needs to be taken full advantage of during the summer months.
We will go back. Just a couple things that could be changed or updated.
I'd also suggest advertising more because I don't know how many people actually know about Brick Street (outside of the locals etc).
Anyways, it's just some...
Read moreUpdated: 1/1/18: I was looking forward to hosting a brunch for me and my friends here and the first man who answered the phone was wonderful. He, however, didn't have the authority to negotiate a lower price for mimosas for the party I was hosting. He transferred me to a woman who was the "event coordinator". She interrupted me every sentence I tried to speak. I ignored it the first few times and tried to explain what I hoped to accomplish but she told me no. I tried to ask if there would be a possible way to decrease the cost of the Mimosas based on group size. I didn't get the chance to ask the question before she cut me off again. I told her that I would like to hold on to the reservation but I would look around to see if I could possibly get a better price on Mimosas since she didn't want to even TRY to negotiate. She interrupted me again asking me if I'd ever been to Brick Street as if I should feel grateful or understand that they are "upscale" and I shouldn't try to get a lower cost for my party. She said "we don't do that." It was then that I got upset. I told her that I would like to keep the reservation but that I will try and see if I can look around for a better price. She interrupted me yet again but this time I stopped her and said, "Excuse me but i was in the middle of a sentence. You know what? Never mind. I'll find another place to go to." She then said, "Okay" and after a long pause said, "Thank you." I hung up. She was disrespectful and if you really were an event manager, you would do what you needed to do to keep customers coming in the door. Even if she had said, "Well, let me see what I can do" and just called me back after doing zero work and told me that she couldn't change anything, I would have kept the reservation and brought all my friends who would have paid the original price she quoted me quite a few times over. Unfortunately, she was presumptuous, snippy and rude. That stupid ass "thank you " at the end was as unconvincing as her job behaving as if customer service were her actual job. It's a shame really. Jumping to conclusions about a voice you hear on the phone just lost you a yearly event with me and with my employer because I will absolutely let them know about this incident and how I...
Read moreIf youâre looking to book their banquet rooms, for your sake and sanity, keep looking. Had my sister in laws baby shower here yesterday and it was awful. 1) We were told there were other parties and that a buffet would be the easiest to serve. Fast forward to the shower, we had to hunt down the waitresses and staff every 10 minutes to let them know the food was running out and tables had to wait their turn to get food while other tables finished eating which was quite embarrassing on my end. They put enough food to serve 20 people when we told them we had 50. Not to mention the service was terrible in general. People were waiting on drinks. Tables were crowded with plates and cups making it hard to maneuver. They also supposedly ran out of green beans and had to serve squash which they brought AFTER we all ate lol. 2) They tried charging us for 60 people when we had agreed to 50 and had it written down. They ended up fixing it after we mentioned we had the paper with the correct number but seriously? The waitresses even tried fighting with us on it. 3) A customer walked in and kept complaining it was âcoldâ (mind you it was 65 degrees out and she was wearing a long sleeve sitting outside the room) because we had the door open IN OUR ROOM to get gifts and decorations out to the cars so we could leave. Their waitress came and was speaking to us in a VERY rude manner saying her customer was upset and cold. What do you expect us to do? It was OUR room and just because the doors to the room were broke and didnât close all the way allowing the air to move to the âcold customerâ has nothing to do with us. Fix your doors. Do you expect us to go through the front entrance and make a scene taking stuff in and out? Nonetheless I will not be returning to dine in nor have any type of occasion here. I strongly advise those who are looking to book a room to look elsewhere. If Brick St wants to stay in business, I recommend to work on your service because you lost lots of...
