Noodle House — Restaurant in Grand Island

My family and I came in over the weekend and we were not greeted by anyone when we came in.. I went to the counter and asked if we wait to be sat or if we can sit anywhere. A young teenager was the only one up front and he barely looked to be working age. Maybe 14. But he never looked up from his phone as he told us to just sit wherever. He then continued on his phone for about 5-10 minutes before he brought us menus. He then went and sat down at a table - again on his phone - and so we just looked over the menu. The menu itself was not so bad. Very few choices but traditional Vietnamese food and it was the perfect day for pho but we ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes and no one came to take our order. We ended up leaving and went to Pho Saigon on Webb Rd. They served us right away and were helpful about all menu questions. Next time we will probably just...

A nice place to get a fast and tasty Vietnamese noodle bowl. The noodle bowls are delicious and very filling. If you order a large bowl you better be really hungry, because a large bowl is a massive portion that can satisfy the most voracious eater (like me). The chille sauce on the table is very spicy and can easily ruin your food if you aren't careful with it. I have to say everything has been good, except two bad experiences with the spring rolls. The rice paper used tends to be gritty and gummy at the same time. The texture is off putting and ruins what could be a good spring roll.

The restaurant is family owned and ran. It is fairly evident with the owners kids running around and the staff treating the dining area like a living room watching TV. So, if you're looking for a less "casual" dining experience this place might not be for you. Otherwise...

Do not let the outside dissuade you from entering to experience arguably the best Pho in all of Nebraska! Besides the traditional food, the experience we had with the owner/server was so genuine and personal, we can't help but return. They bring giant pictures of anything you are thinking about eating, if you are new to Vietnamese food, so you know exactly what to expect. Once your food comes out, it is their personal mission to make sure you know exactly what to do with all the toppings, dips, etc. so you have the best flavor and are so attentive to every need, if you don't enjoy something, you won't be in need for long. The owner is passionate and you can see that above all, he wants to deliver the best food to every guest! I want everyone to visit, so they can maybe renovate, so the building reflects how wonderful of an experience...
