Cisco's Hideaway Lounge — Restaurant in Grand Isle

Lovely folks here. Lots of cold beverages. I’m a contractor with the Corp of Engineers so I’ve stopped by from time to time. I do worry about the rising waters. Our directives are to avoid saying “climate change” which is strange because you’d have to be a blind dingo in the Australian outback not to see what’s happening. So “paroxysmal climatic perturbation” is what it’s being called now. Maybe with a new boss in DC science and politics can part ways. Otherwise the rising waters will wash us all away. Not being locals, we've gotten a couple sideways looks when we've walked in, but at least the looks turn into smiles, that turn into conversations! The island locals are super friendly & know that we're there to have a good time just as they are! We've met new friends each time we've been this summer...& I believe they're getting used to seeing us around :) Service is always sweet, beer is always cold...& I will try one of those fruit daqs on...

Daqs are absolutely not made with fresh fruit as advertised. Old local hide in the wall bar where the locals go to smoke and drink without the touristy vibe. Service...
