El Paisano Tortilleria — Restaurant in Grand Prairie

I am disappointed. I told the young lady I wanted rice and chicharrones.

She pulled out 2 - 3 oz cups and filled one with rice and another with the meat. In total she charged me $10.22. $3 for rice maybe but $6.11 for 5 chicharrones .... I know what half a pound is and there's no way you can fit half a pound in a 3 oz Styrofoam container.

That's robbery. Not even for a whole plate with nothing else to go with it. Very ridiculous granted there was a language barrier and she refused the return. I did not see the total until after she gave me a receipt which she thought I wasn't going to ask for.

We ordered a few things, but we were not impressed with most of the items. I ordered two tacos of chicharrón, which had good flavor, but the tortillas were soggy. I wanted crispy chicharrón, but I got stewed chicharrón. I also ordered one ropa vieja, which is on the menu. However, the lady taking the order did not know what it was. Nevertheless, it had good flavor, but again, the tortilla was soggy. It would have made a world of difference if they had just fried the tortillas a little bit. The menudo was terrible—no salt, no flavor, just water. The meat was hard and tasteless. One item that stood out was the barbacoa. It was flavorful, but we didn't even get salsa. I went there today with my family and both my parents ordered Menudo. It took them 15 mins to bring it to our table when we got it it was cold and spoiled. My dad returned them to the cashier and ordered something else, then they changed us twice because according to them there was nothing wrong with the menudo that's its normal taste there for we still needed to pay for them. We have been going to this place for years and never had this issue. The manager/owner didn't even want to come to talk to us until I demanded the cashier to have her (manager) come because she (cashier) didn't get paid enough to deal with upset customers. Worst Customer Service...
