Maybe the worst dining experience I have ever had. Went Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Half of the patio was empty and all of the inside was empty but was still a 40 minute wait at 3:00. Before we got seated we got drinks at the bar and multiple works were complaining about either working or something happening that day. So we were hesitant to stick around, but we did. Sat down and ordered drinks and appetizers. 15 minutes pass and non alcoholic drinks for the table still hadnât come. Waitress came back to take entree orders and then we reminded her about the other drinks. They then finally came. When we were ordering meals the waitress told us that they were out of pizza(which is 1/3 of their limited weekend menu), shoestring fries, and chicken tenders. No kidding 15 minutes after being told they were out of all those options a table we were seated shortly behind had pizza and chicken tenders. They could have ran out right as we were ordering but that made us question what we were being told. A full hour passes without a sign of the appetizers. We then ask about them and get told that the restaurant has been sending them out with the entrees, never have seen or heard of that before. Another 30 passes and we finally ask when the pretzel and egg rolls will be out. Waitress then comes back to say that the kitchen is a mess and they should be out shortly. 15 minutes pass and we stop the waitress and tell her to cancel the entrees after being informed there is still 2 table ahead of us before we would see our food. We finally received our apps and the pretzel is rock hard and burnt to the point it was inedible. Absolutely disgusted we paid when the apps were brought out and ate 2 of 3 rolls and left. I understand that non of this is the service workers fault but if you cannot provide a decent experience to your guests whatâs the point of being open if you cannot staff it for that day. The restaurant was maybe half filled and they were struggling due to whatever the reasons was that was being talked about amongst the workers. We were with visitors who had never been before and they are so turned off by the experience they felt to mention it to many others staying around them...
Read moreI think I speak for most when I say we miss the Thirsty Turtle, but the Tiki Turtle is pretty cool too. They have great drinks (or itâs completely possible we just get there late enough in the day when all drinks already taste great haha), the appetizers are delicious, and they actually have really good pizza! As a personal fan of Margherita pizza, itâs hard to find a place that makes a decent one, but I do have to say that I was pleasantly surprised the other weekend with the one at the Tiki Turtle! A few members in my group also ordered pizzas, and they enjoyed theirs as well. Unfortunately, they did get rid of the personal pizzas, so you have to order a big one, but hopefully theyâll bring those back in the future (fingers crossed). The menu is short, but itâs really all you need- some sandwiches, pizzas, chicken tenders, the basics⌠Itâs not bad food! Now the prices, on the other hand, are a little disappointing, especially for breakfast. My boyfriend ordered eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and 2 biscuits the other day, and it was like $33 not counting the tip. The biscuits were sweet (which some people like, Iâm just not a fan) and the gravy was a weird texture, so we took one small bite of them and pushed them to the side, but had we known they were so expensive, I probably wouldâve eaten them just because! Service is typically pretty good, especially if you go often and become familiar with the staff! Sometimes it can be pretty slow, but itâs still enjoyable to be able to sit in such a pretty spot by the water with your loved ones! Right now, they have new employees training, but I donât mind, I remember how stressful it was when I had my first waitressing job. Theyâre all really kind to their customers. Overall, a great place for casual dining! We love throwing on our t shirts over our swimsuits after a long day of boating, and riding our golf-cart over to the Tiki Turtle for some hot food and drinks. Thereâs this blue bucket drink that they serve called something Lemonade (sorry, I canât remember the name) and itâs my favorite! I recommend for anyone...
Read moreThis restaurant is so cool. My wife and I came here while we were on vacation and we both really enjoyed it. The food was great and priced reasonably. The atmosphere and hawaiian theme was unique and cool. And you get the option to eat on the lake with a view or inside. There was live music and corn hole boards and fire pits. I had the beer cheese burger and fries and really liked it. This is a cool place to visit with friends and family. The owner and staff were kind and asked us how we enjoyed everything. 5 stars!
