I'm not sure how someone could not love their stay here. I didn't even STAY there, my mom and her best friend did... my girlfriend and I came to visit and we stayed from noon until probably 10PM. The atmosphere there is extremely relaxed. It's just cozy. You don't have to have a lake view, because it feels like a resort in itself. The way to go is the "all inclusive" route. That way you get the breakfast, which is delicately made and even started on the night before, and you get golf cart access. The golf carts are all 4-6 seaters. Grab the keys from by the front door and stroll into town to check out Patti's or whatever else in town! Chip, Mike, and Linda were all terrific. Chip was such a gracious host. Even though my girlfriend and I weren't staying there ourselves and just visiting, he made us feel very welcomed as if we were paying guests. The pool is well maintained, the water slide DOES work (I tried it out of course lol), and the hot tub is a nice touch. I didn't get to try the grand breakfast of course, since we didn't stay, but hearing my mom and her friend describe it, then getting to smell it being prepped by Linda before we left at night, I could only imagine how grand it is. Maizee, Chip's dog (Yorkie) is precious. She marches to the beat of her own drum. She may come up to you to say hi, but, she has things to do, like get on the couch and nap if it's hot out!! LOL
The room my mom stayed in, the Tuscan Sun rose, was IDEAL if you and a friend are staying. There's 2 big beds (Queen or Kings, I couldn't tell) and its own full bath with stand up shower. The room is right off the living room, and it's quite cold in there from the air conditioning (which I love, I can only imagine how hard you would sleep!). There is access to the deck from that room, but it is around the building from the pool area (just have to walk around the deck to get to the pool). It has its own refrigerator and freezer as well (not full size but plenty big enough).
We did not want to leave... and we plan on staying ourselves sometime. It's just extremely relaxing. It's more of an adult place in my opinion, although there is a pool with a slide and noodles and what not. Of course, parents with children can stay there, but it was also nice not hearing yelling or screaming and having people running around like crazy lol. Prices are very modest considering all the accommodations. I will definitely be staying there...
Read moreWonderful ! Oh...did I say wonderful !? There last week for Tuesday acgernoon & night and Wednsday then left early Thursday morning. Google Maps tells you that you are there a bit be for you are. Just drive a 100 yards or so more. Everything was clean; my first and main priority. It is an older home that has been added on to and remodeled so there are some twist and turns to get to your room. This was our first B&B. We reserved there least expensive room 110.oo, but when we got there Chip (one of the owners) thought I was there to fix the satellite TV because I had a Dish network shirt on. I d idnt say a word; just fixed it then said I was now there as a guest...how about an upgrade. Everyone got a laugh. Chip said pick your room. We chose the room I checked the satellite system in: Black Jade. It was very clean, well decorated, comfortable, and again very clean. No good or bad smells; just clean. Property was very nice: pool was clean and well maintained, same for the hot-tub. The whole area was well kept. The pool area was large and well played out so that many people could be there but you could still feel private. Watching them feed the fish, in the little man made pond, was neat. He even showed us a hummingbird nest outside, our outside door(very rare). Hard to see in the picture I attached. Was great to have the golf carts provided to run around town and see the sites. The #3 gas one we had did struggle a bit on some of the hills, but it was safe and everything worked. Breakfast: wow it was good ! All home made and many items. Told Michael (the other owner) they dont need need to waste their time putting out salt & pepper shakers...everything was perfectly seasoned. Jan the wonderfull lady who did the cooking did a great job. I told her they had achieved five stars until I had her food...now it shod be bumped to six ! We ate outside on the deck just out off the main gathering area. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Jonathan the manager, I think, was great also and helped us with any questions. Everyone was wonderful ! We will...
Read moreWe stayed in cottage 11 on Saturday and were very disappointed with the cleanliness of this room. It was very obvious that it had not been cleaned. There were crumbs all over the countertops, the front of the microwave was filthy, there was dust all over everything, the floors had trash all over them, there was hair in the shower, we found a toothpick and a dead earthworm lying by the bed and then we couldn’t sleep well because there were multiple windows and so many lights left on outside that it felt like daylight all night in our room…they definitely need blackout curtains. The room itself has 2 beds, a large size bathroom with a washer and dryer and a nice size kitchen that was stocked with pots, pans, cups, etc. ..it’s a nice space but I felt I was sleeping in someone else’s filth. They provide a delicious breakfast every morning however, you had to wait until 9:30 to eat and checkout is at 11 so if you need to leave earlier than 9:30, you will need to find your own breakfast. I tried calling and leaving messages and emailing them before we booked the room because I had questions but no one ever answered the phone or responded to my emails or voicemail. The grounds are very nice ..they have a large pool with a slide surrounded by lots of beautiful plants and flowers…they also have a hot tub but it wasn’t working properly…it made a horrible noise when you tried to turn the jets on….you also get to use their golf carts which was a nice perk. The staff we encountered was friendly especially the lady who checked us in …unfortunately, we never had an opportunity to tell them how filthy the room was but I’ve posted plenty of pictures with this review. Next time I’m in the area, I would try the lakeside cottages at the marina...
