I hate to because I rarely complain about food even when it's not up to par or correct. But this was not one of my better experiences. A family member recently ordered several pizza from here for a birthday party and it was relayed to us how great the pizza was. Not feeling well we decided to try it rather than make a trip to the grocery store and cook. Understand please this establishment is 1 mile from my house and according to their website, not busy at all tonight. Anyway we ordered an xlg pizza, a lg pizza, two orders of bread sticks and a salad. The total was $47 and some change. We ( he, I generally try to tip $7 or $8) tipped the driver $5. Well within 1 mile our pizzas were barely room temperature, our bread sticks had been packaged in two separate boxes containing 2 sm cups of marinara sauce per box in which all four cups were upside down and one per box had spilled out into the box, the salad( which seemed to contain a whole head of chopped lettuce) literally had 1tsp of bacon bits, 1 and 1/2tbsp chicken and 8 slices of jalapeños. Definitely not nearly significant portions for that much lettuce. The ranch dressing was fine at 2 sm cups. The six croutons in the little bag wasn't significant either. I called ( already feeling bad even complaining, as I've spent most of my own life in fastfood and restaurants ) and explained the situation politely. I was put on hold and the young lady came back offering to bring out another salad. I had to request 2 more cups of marinarea in which she obliged. Within 5min the salad was here. Definitely better than the first but still not proportionate, and this time without croutons. The marinara was in the bag. I appreciate the effort however I am not sure I feel satisfied. After over $50 our results were cold pizza and bread sticks with an ok salad we had to wait extra time for. I fail to understand with business slow and only a mile to deliver why our pizza and bread sticks were cold to begin with or why our marinara was packed upside down leaving a mess and not enough marinara. As for the salad and me I would have preferred a smaller amount of lettuce equaling a smaller salad with sufficient toppings rather than a lot of lettuce. Just my thoughts and preferences. It just doesn't seem worth reordering for me. Though I do feel had it been hot or at least a little above room temperature the pizza and bread sticks would...
Read moreFor great pizza, fast service, and a growing list of menu items, Slice of Heaven lives up to its name. The pizza is hot and fresh, the salads great, and the various sticks( cheese, cinnamon, and bread), to die for. I order the cinnamon sticks for a breakfast treat. I microwave one at 15 seconds, and it's hot, gooey( messy eating, but I'm not complaining!😋😋😋😎 I love that they deliver. Not driving, it gives me options when I'm bonking my head, trying to figure out what to eat. Cooking for one is, at best, uninspiring. This is a favorite winter feast for me. The people are kind, the delivery persons patient, because it's slow going to get to the door. One great thing: it's locally owned and operated. This makes me happy.. Supporting local businesses is something that I care about. Try Slice of Heaven. ...
