Went during German fest. The house is huge for the period it was built in. Very interesting history and unlike other historical homes you can go into the individual rooms and look around. The stairs are a bit steep so not for those with mobility issues. Unfortunately there is some grafitti etched into parts of the house from vagrants before the house was restored.

We decided to visit the Old Stone House on a whim. It was really interesting. People dressed in costume, period foods to sample, period music and a small battle reinactment. We learned a lot and intend to go back for Oktoberfest!

Andy was so knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful tour with all the background of the house, family, history and artifacts. Tip, bring a little cash for the contributions box.

Interesting history here. Have a docent share the archeology of the site. Lots to be learned about this over 250 year old site. Check times when house is open to the public. Grounds are interesting, too, if you're a history buff. Much of what is known about the site is only available by speaking with a knowledgeable guide. Events here add tremendously to the experience. Literature about the history would be a welcome onsite addition. Check out the creek behind the house down the trails and the cemetery...

The Old Stone House was incredible. We met the wonderful gentleman who takes care of the property and planted the kitchen garden in the back. He gave us the history of the house and the land. He pointed out the uniqueness of this house and the restoration of it. Great efforts have been made to keep things as authentic as possible. The love and passion of this house, garden and land was so evident in the way he spoke of it. This gentleman is gift to the community as a...
