Gatsby Restaurant — Restaurant in Grant District

Here for the Easter Brunch Buffet. Crowded but the lines are moving along easily thanks to a few members of the staff..

The buffet was as described. Only 3 items left much to be desired: the carved ham and roast beef and the lamb. All were a bit more flavorless than they needed to be and a tad dry. Other than this, everything else was pretty good, especially the bacon (thicker cut, thank you), the sausage, cheesy potatoes and the seafood quiche.

My only real complaint is Janet (I believe her name is), one of the hostesses seating customers. I'm not sure if her husband decided to leave her today, her cat died or she just happen to see an ex who is happier than her but in ANY CASE, she has a foul attitude, can't stop rolling her eyes and sighing with each customer request and seems to believe it's her customers problem and fault. Now Lizzie, the other hostess/greeter/seater is great and is making every customer feel welcome. How odd to have polar opposites performing the same task, leaving you with two totally different feelings.

**A word of advice Gatsby Dining: DONT put mean spirited, unhappy, resentful people at the reception desk. It sets the tone for your meal and experience and leaves you wanting to forego the experience all together and seek out an establishment that actually wants you AND your cash...

This restaurant is located inside of the Mountainer Casino in West Virginia.

There is plenty of seating available 😀! I ordered the fried zucchini strips topped with fresh parmaschon grated directly on top of the zucchini strips!

They also provided a large amount of dipping sauce for you! OMG, they arrived hot 🔥, and were out of this world delicious!

My friend ordered the onion soup 🍲. It was loaded with cheese covering the entire bowl! It was loaded with fresh Vidalia sweet onions and fresh croutons to absorb the tasty broth. It was absolutely 💯 delicious!

I definitely would suggest eating here during your stay at the Casino 🎰!!

We didn't have to wait in a long line before being seated.

The buffet is still closed; however, the menu selections were awesome 👌!

The prices are very reasonable for the amount of great food that you get!

This restaurant was extremely clean and not crowded for brunch time.

Went to mountaineer for the first time, suggestion to eat at Gatsby and get the philly.

First let me say that the hostess/supervisor was beyond rude, her name is Sam. She looked at us several times and ignored us for seating, once we got to the table we told our waitress that we knew what we wanted and ordered drinks and our entrées.

After waiting 35 min, and with any offers for refills on drinks our subs came out. They were the saddest looking phillys I've ever ordered.

It was more veg and cheese than meat. There was easily less than 3oz of meat on the sub and the buns were cold and wet and not juicy wet in a good way but wet like...
