They said the wait time would be 10-15 minutes. Instead, it took 70 minutes to be seated. That is with people ahead of us leaving. We had 6 people in our group. There were 6 tables on our way to be seated that were ready to be bussed. And there were plenty of clean empty tables that would have easily sat all the others waiting. We ordered our meal at the time our drinks were ordered. Our table was extremely sticky and the waitress told us “I clean it and I clean it. This is probably the same table that was here when we opened 20 years ago. I can’t help the sticky”. Now, our food came out at different times in different sections. 5 of us were about finished by the time our last person got their food. The waitress (an older lady who wore a lot of rings) said “I can’t control how fast the food is cooked” when saying that one of our people didn’t get their banana bread and cinnamon triangles when asked where they were since the rest of us had already received our banana bread. I asked her for ranch and honey mustard for my chicken. She brought both cups in her bare hand instead of on a plate. And right when she got to the table, she had to tell the younger waitress that she did something wrong before our waitress gave me my sauces. Our waitress leaned over one of our people to refill the others glass. She didn’t walk 2 feet to the right to refill the glass.
Overall, not a good experience. The meal was okay but I won’t eat there again. On our side of fruit, there was one single strawberry and the grapes were old and the vine was half empty. The cantaloup was the only good part on the plate. My rolls were hard on top and the house fries were way too brown, unseasoned, and luke warm.
We are from out of town and figured that Bob Evans is a good choice for breakfast. We arrived for breakfast but ended up ordering lunch by the time we were seated.
The experience was not enjoyable. The service in the restaurant was rude and not at all what would have been expected when entering the restaurant. We would have had a better meal, service, and time from the Speedy Speedway Cafe next door. Would give Zero stars...
Read moreService wasn't great and food was worse. The worst offender was the Western Omelet I ordered. It came out about 5 minutes after we ordered, which was great, but the egg "shell" that the large pile of slightly undercooked vegetables were wrapped in had to be either pre made or was at least par-cooked before I even ordered. It also had an off-putting slightly green color. I know it's only Bob Evans but I feel like any omelet would be at least decent given that eggs/omelets make up the large majority of items you can order here.
Also there is no way they cook pancakes to order...they look and cut like rubber and weren't even piping hot, despite also getting them very quickly after we ordered. I don't know if Bob Evans is/was a real person but he would have to be pretty dissapointed knowing they can't even cook pancakes to order either.
Add in the fact that I didn't receive my order of bacon, had to ask 2 times for cream for my warm coffee, and didn't get any refills on said coffee made for a really bad visit.
I have noticed that the quality of food and service at Bob Evans has been trending downwards over the past 2-3 years, especially since COVID, but this was the first time I felt like a negative review was warranted.
Oh...and cost....two kids piggy pancake meals, one Western omelet with hash browns, one coffee, one orange juice ...$30+ dollars....woof.
Craziest thing is, the place was packed and there was a line and people all the way outside waiting...
Read moreWell I was in there with my family this evening we were the last ones out around about 9:15p.m and the food was amazing and my waitress was awesome. When we went to leave I handed the hostess ( A young black boy with curly hair on top and short on the sides type hair style) anyways my bill was $33 dollars and some change. I handed the boy $40 dollars. I watched him place a five to the left of the cashier screen on top of the cash register drawer. And then he proceeded to tell me my change was $1 and change. I said excuse me I gave you $40 he said oh your right picked up the five from where he has placed it and handed it too me. He was so nervous I know it was intentional. If it was an honest mistake my remaining balance would have been in the drawer. I'm writing this to inform the company that I'm sure this wasn't his first time and my family and I eat at Bob Evens very frequently. The change was part of my waitress tip otherwise I may not have noticed as with alot of others. I paid with a twenty and 4 fives I understand I could of just given him $35 but needed the ones to finishes tipping. I just couldn't believe he even did that. Dishonesty within a company should be brought to light. Thank you the food was great as always and we had a...
