Drove into a beautiful hotel, our room was spacious and very clean. We decided to eat at the restaurant downstairs and approached the host station and asked “ if we go to the adjacent bar for a drink, can we order off the same menu as the restaurant for dinner?” We had just completed a 20 hr shared drive. Her reply was yes, so we went to the adjacent bar. There was no bartender present and 2 other people waiting before us. We patiently waited and upon her return there was no acknowledgment that any of us were there. After a wait we ordered our drink to be told it was not the same menu after all. We paid for our drink and went next door to the restaurant. The host asked us if we wanted to sit outside, beautiful night so we agreed. She brought us to a lounge couch which had no dining table so we declined and asked to sit inside. How do you bring guests to a couch, for dinner???? Once at a table, We ordered a bottle of wine which our server, Marissa, didn’t know if they had, so she asked us what our second choice was… They did have the wine, so we proceeded to order dinner. I ordered the beef tenderloin and asked what type of pasta came in the pasta/marinara side, she didn’t know. I ordered it anyway. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin which both meals came with a dinner salad. Marissa brought us out bread while we were waiting, we had to ask for butter or something to dip it in. Our meals were good but our entree and salad all came out at the same time… for the money you would think it would be coursed meals. … nope. We corked our wine which was served very warm and ordered a neat crown royal, and a neat crown apple. The crown royal appeared and we had to remind the server of our second beverage. After a while we were told they had run out and she brought me peach instead without asking. Reluctantly I accepted it because it was already poured although not my favorite. The staff here is not knowledgeable about the menu, no management at the time, and it was mostly young adults running the show with no guidance. For a place that looked very nice, this was chaos. Also, we booked this room not knowing about the young ladies soccer team staying there. Very loud, doors slamming, girls yelling with their friends, very disturbing for us who had just had a very long drive, with a 14 hr drive home the next day that we needed rest for. Very disappointing and I will not...
Read moreI had really high hopes after seeing beautiful photos of the igloo dining experience online. I went ahead and booked online for 2 people in an igloo. I received a text confirmation the day before the reservation and thought everything was good.
We drove over 2 hours for our 5PM reservation on a Saturday but were told when we arrived that our reservation was not for an igloo, just for the restaurant. I showed them my text confirmation and they told me that was not the right confirmation and the igloos were fully booked. It is worth noting that the place wasn't busy and most of the igloos looked empty. I was upset and embarrassed that we drove all that way for what was supposed to be a really special experience for my husband's birthday.
In the moment, I was fumbling around with my phone and couldn't get logged into the Resy app and only had the text confirmations that dont specifically say "igloo"
We decided to leave because we didn't want to stand there and argue with the host who didn't really seem to care much.
On the drive home I was finally able to get logged into the Resy account and found the reservation that clearly showed my reservation for 2 at 5PM in an IGLOO.I sent copies of the reservation to the restaurant, but didn't receive a reply which is why I'm now leaving this review.
Mistakes happen but they failed on multiple levels:
Failed to honor the reservation I made online Failed to try to resolve the issue or accommodate us when we arrived. Failed to respond or attempt to make it right after I provided a copy of the confirmation for the igloo.
If you book the igloo dining experience here, please make sure to call and double check that your reservation is correct and don't trust the confirmation...
Read moreMy wife and I go to Cherry Valley lodge for our anniversary every year. Typically we go to another restaurant but we thought we would try the restaurant within the hotel which is the craftsman restaurant. We made reservations and showed up 15 minutes early and they were able to accommodate us. The table that they gave us was wobbly. We asked to fix it and I’m thinking that they might just move us to another table because there were plenty of tables available. They did fix our table after 10 or so minutes. We had the pecan crusted chicken and a New York strip steak. The pecan crusted chicken was dry and flavor less and the Fettuccine was flavorless, bland, and really had no sauce on it. The steak hadn’t really no flavor to it. I’ve actually never seen a New York strip look the way the steak looked when they brought it out to me. The broccolini was tasty. When my wife asked our server to remove her less than half eaten meal and my wife responded”definitely not” to the servers inquiry of a take home box. That might have been a queue that something was wrong. After the meal we ordered crème brûlée they brought up some thing that was called crème brûlée, it was cold and looked like marshmallows, we sent it back and they said they would bring out another one. The second one had no crust on it which is what crème brûlée is supposed to have and there was butter seeping out of it.
I had looked at the prices before I had reserved our table and thought that this would be a high-quality restaurant, but it was anything bought. The experience was not a good one. Made me regret booking this restaurant for...
