This is for the bistro..3 of us girls had a night out. We enjoyed ourselves until we left and had discovered the waitress swapped our bank cards. Waitress gave each of us our bills. We put our cards with our bills in the black checkbook she gave us. We didn't realize she gave the wrong bill to 2 of us at the table. She came and collected bills with our cards in the black checkbooks. Then came back with a hand held and all 3 checks with cards. Then charged according to where we sat with correct meals but that put charge cards with the wrong person at this point. We have the same bank and our cards look the same. We made charges on the others bank accounts and didn't realize we had each other's cards at this point and put them away. When we went to leave.... then bought wine with the same cards. And yes on each others bank cards. We discovered what had happened after we got home. Maybe we should have realized what had happened at the table but I have never had a restaurant swap bank cards between myself and someone else. She and I corrected the money between us and swapped cards back the next day. I called left a message on an answering machine and 4 days later I got a call back. Now I am not about trying to get a free meal. That is not what this is about. Between the 3 meals and wine bought afterwards we spent almost $400. All I got from the owner Katie was that the charges were correct and a smug I am sorry. The owner didn't seem to understand the ramifications of giving bank cards back to the wrong people and charging on the wrong accounts. Hungry run was my favorite winery so it was a big let down. A good night with friends turned into a headache. I just think Katie should understand she lost customers......some compassion and understanding may have made a difference. If I could have left zero stars...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I are on the Xmas Wine Trail and this was the 12th winery we’ve been to! This place doesn’t look too fancy from the outside but my gosh it was awesome on the inside! The moment you walk in, you are met with a beautiful wall of wine, from floor to ceiling there is a rack of all their wines chillen. We were met with a group of servers and happened to be the first ones to be there that night. We got sat down, given a list of wines and got to pick 5 to try. I tried a coconut, a peach tea, a peach dessert, and two others, my favorite was the peach tea. My bf got a bottle of their 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon.
This place was also a restaurant, and let me tell you the food was SO GOOD. We started with a loaf of bread with olive oil and the bread was so tasty, they gave you a knife for it but it cut like butter. I ordered the NY strip steak and it was SO TASTY. I love fat on my steaks it’s my fav part and that was divine. My bf got chicken Alfredo, it was also very tasty, the Alfredo was very flavorful and the garlic knot that went with it was so tasty. We both got a glass of wine, and I got to pick a dessert. The Beignets we got were so tasty, I loved them no too sweet, no too sour.
All in all it was a amazing experience and we will be back. We ended up getting three bottles here, the coconut, the peach tea and the one my bf loved. ALSO Thank you for letting us take a pic with Tim in the wine wall! So awesome. We love our Tim adventure and being able to bring him to all...
Read moreFantastic sweet and fruit wines! The flights are 12$ for 6 and the pours are very generously sized. There are just so many fabulous varieties of fruit & sweet wine here that you could do 3 flights of just sweet and fruit wine. Absolutely incredible varieties and flavors - definitely check out the Blackberry Lemon and Peach Tea! We also really enjoyed the Blackberry Cabernet as a more complex red wine that was still sweet.
Good selection for brunch and lunch as well, I enjoyed the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. The only small issue was that we were charged 1-2$ more for our meals than was stated on the menu - not a huge deal but it may just be time to update the menus. Overall the lovely wine made up for it and the service was extremely accommodating. We left with an entire case and we honestly still could have picked even more out.
A must-go if you like sweet & fruit wine. We visited here all the way from Maryland and it did...
