New to the area and decided to try this place. Based off our overall experience, we will not be back. Quality and flavor of food was off and service was friendly but not efficient or organized. Service: tables of 4 or more get additional charge on check for “large group”. In our mind 4 people isn’t a large group so we were confused on that but let it be. Training servers on repeating back orders can be beneficial as we had issues with our order coming out incorrect and people waiting to eat. Timing of food was terrible. I received my food at least 10 minutes before my group and was sitting by cold, drafty window and didn’t want my food getting cold before I could enjoy it. Same thing happened with dessert. One of us got their dessert a significant amount of time before the rest of us. (Enough time to finish theirs while we waiting for ours). Run down of food we tried: We were sad to find out they don’t have pozole at this location despite it being on their menu. Waiter did not warn us either so had to make quick decision change when he finally came back to place order. Asada tacos come wrapped individually with pico instead of cilantro, onion, & lime. Meat was moist and tasty. Rice and beans had good flavor and portion. We tried the combo platter with chile relleno and enchiladas. The chile relleno tasted OLD like either fried in old grease or sitting for way too long then reheated n slapped sauce on it. Noticeably cold toward center as well. Enchilada was not anything special and had okay flavor. Mole enchiladas were solid! Lots of chicken. Shrimp cocktail came with cucumbers which is unusual for us and had an off flavor. Spicy cucumber marg was okay. DO NOT get their dessert. This was the most disappointing. Flan is really thick and chunky not smooth and creamy. Tres leches had funky texture as well and tasted like it had been in the fridge for a long time taking on all the flavors of the other food it was stored with. Churros tasted like they were cooked in old, dirty oil. They took on a lot of oil too so it wasn’t an easy flavor to ignore even with the drizzle and whip cream. One of the 5 churros we got was rock hard.

We were excited to have a new restaurant in the area. Went here for dinner on a Friday night with my parents. It was a bit busy, but nothing crazy. Honestly, the service was pretty bad. Upon being seated we were told we would have to wait to get menus as they were all being used. I've actually never had that happen before, anywhere. I tried to be understanding of things being slow, as they are still working things out, it seems. However, there's a difference between slow, and simply never getting what we asked for, which happened multiple times. We were served our food and never given any utensils or napkins, so we had to flag down a server to get some. Some items on the menu just don't have prices for no apparent reason. I asked our server if he knew how much an item was and he just said "no". No offer to find out or anything. Okay then. The item I ordered (Pollo con crema, which is chicken and mushrooms in cream sauce) came out with tons of jalapenos in it. The description on the menu did not say anything about any jalapenos, nor anything saying it would be spicy at all. It was still very tasty, but they really need to fix their menus in general (and get more of them). The rice and refried beans are pretty good, also. The salsa was not my favorite, but that's just my preference. They also give you a white sauce (mayo based, I believe) that is pretty good with chips. My mom ordered shrimp fajita nachos which were good, though she did say there was very little shrimp in them. Dad ordered chicken fajitas, which looked quite good (and large portions) but was mostly green peppers. The flour tortillas are good, as well. Overall, I do think we will return, but personally I will try to only go there when it's not busy. Hopefully the service would be better then. The prices are pretty reasonable, on par with most other similar places. Also, the interior is nicely decorated, though the tables could be a little further apart.

Currently doing a taco tour to find the best chips and salsa, lime margarita and steak taco, which are being graded on a 1-5 scale. When my child is with they are rating the chicken tacos. Currently this is stop #17 Jalisco located at 2850 Humboldt Rd (It doesn’t show up on Facebook) Chips and salsa - Chips were overcooked, thick and no salt. The salsa had a very raw powdered seasoning taste, which I think was chili powder and or cumin. Either way, it was so overpowering. There was no spice to the salsa at all. They give you Mexican ranch with the chips and salsa. The Mexican ranch is sour cream based and seems to be mixed with a dry ranch mix and taco seasoning packet. Wasn’t anything great - 1 Lime Margarita on the rocks - More on the sour side. It was definitely a premix. It wasn’t the best and wasn’t the worst - 3 On Mondays they have 2 for 1 Steak Taco: Flavor: 3 Fullness: 4 Appearance: 3 The tacos came on two corn tortillas that were taken out of a package and put on the plate. They didn’t try to jazz them up in any way. Red onions are always a nice touch to tacos but there was a ton on this taco. Chicken Taco: Flavor: 4 Fullness: 5 Appearance: 3 Flavor was good. The taco was very soggy and the whole thing was falling apart Service - 3 - The restaurant wasn’t busy, our server appeared to only have one other table and he was barely around and when he would come he would say he would be right back. He did only charge us for one margarita and gave us the deal with us both getting a margarita. 2 steak tacos, one chicken taco, one sodas and two lime margarita $21.10 Give us a follow @gbdiningdykes on instagram
