Location: In Amado, AZ south of Tucson off of I-19, exit 48. Easy to find right off the interstate. "Quaint" little area.
First Impression: Very rancher style design. Waiting area has saddle's you and such you can take photos with, etc. Very clean area. They had a lot of mounted animals on the wall which I thought was nice but if you don't like that design, this would not be the place for you. I was all about it as I am from the South.
Food: The food was excellent. This review would actual encompass the second time I have been here with my family. The service was excellent with the staff being very attentive, ordering went quick and drinks were out in no time. The restaurant was about 1/4-1/2 packed when we went so it was not bad. The food was excellent. I had the "Sunday Dinner" and my wife had one of their burgers. Both of them were cooked very well and extremely tasty. The food was not over-salted like most places would do to cover up bad food. The food was very filling and was what I consider Rancher Style Comfort Food. I want to try the steaks but they are a little on the high side. Although, if the quality of the steaks are like the rest of their food...I'm sure it will be top-notch.
Refill Meter (new rating for me): 1-10: 8 They did well coming back to refill me as I am bottomless pit of Ice-Tea when I go to a restaurant.
Overall: Would I go back? Definitely yes. The food was excellent and service was great. They even had coloring books for the kids while we waited (not just coloring sheets, actual books). It is definitely worth a shot if you want something a little different from the regular...
Read moreOur family has been going to Cow Palace for years. Tonight was by the worst experience. Needless to say we won't be going back. The food was good, but when we got the bill it had a $15 charge for service. We asked our waiter about it and he said that is the gratuity for parties of 5 or more. Well that type of gratuity was 20%. We said but you don't advertise that on the menu anywhere. He said no we don't. So he said "do you want me to take it off"? We told him yes. He came back mad cause now we were leaving the tip we wanted and not what was put on the check. Then he took the bill and ran the credit card. After he brought the bill back my husband asked if he could have a soda to go. The waiter said well you have to give me the bill back cause I have to charge you for it. We had already paid for the soda on the bill cause we ordered it with dinner. My husband said really? The waiter then threw the bill back down and said never mind. We have never had any try and charge us for the soda to go. This guy was just ridiculous cause he wasn't getting the big tip that was on the bill. So needless to say we will be taking our business somewhere else cause we don't need to put up with...
Read moreAfter a long day exploring Ruby AZ we stumbled upon this place for dinner. The parking was packed but was pleased there was no wait to be seated. The lady at the desk was in the phone taking an order and didn't get to us for a few min. Then we were seated at the first table as you waled in. Not bad just wanted something a little more secluded. The waitress came got our drink order brought it back and with out giving straws she wanted our order. I had the new west burger my company had the Philly cheese steak. I left to use the restroom. It's very dated and not the cleanist doos had a missing lock and a broken one. Was gone maybe 6 min than the food was out. Very quickly. Food was really good and flavorful. The only drawback was the waitress asked to take my plate and grabbed everything including my silverware and my dish that o was still eating my potatoes salad from. Not terrible but the manager came around that was nice overall will probably stop back in if I'm ever in the area and looking for dinner. They won't be serving breakfast anymore till...
