March 11, 2023 Bonnie and Craig Horowitz 8271 Majestic Mountain Drive Boynton Beach Fl. 33473 To Whom it may concern, My husband and I went to Fiorella’s Italian restaurant at, 7008 Charleston Shores Blvd, Lake Worth, FL 33467, last night. The following is the story of our experience there. We have been to this place many times in the past few years. We even went during the pandemic and had our meal outside in the parking lot where they set up tables. We always enjoyed going and felt that the staff and atmosphere was excellent. The food was good as well. They don’t take reservations for less than 5 so depending on how busy they are you might have to wait. We understood that and had no problem with waiting. Last night we gave our name and were told it would be a 15–20-minute wait. No problem we headed to the bar found a place to sit and have drinks. We were talking to the bartender, and all was good. After a half hour my husband decided to check on our reservation. He went to the hostess stand and gave our name and was told that our table was ready. He headed back to the bar where he settled our bar bill . We then proceeded to our table where we were handed menu’s and sat down. We were given water and garlic rolls and ordered baked clams for our appetizer. Things went downhill from there. We were then approached by a woman . Since I have been there many times, I knew this was the manager or proprietor of the establishment for descriptive purposes I will refer to her as a woman. She then proceeded to bellow at us in a very threating and aggressive tone of voice. The following is the exchange. Understand this is in a very crowded restaurant. Woman “Why are you sitting at this table.” Husband “we were told to sit here.” Woman “Who told you that.” Husband “the person who sat us told me that.” Woman “show me who it was point her out.” Husband ”The hostess sat me.” Woman – Don’t lie to me. The poor hostess who couldn’t have been older than 20 years was standing right there during the whole exchange looking mortified. My husband later told me that he was pretty sure she was the one who sat him, but it could have been a number of other people as well. At that point my husband was Getting understandably upset. Husband “ if you line up all the staff, I will try to pick the person out who sat us” Husband “are you accusing us of just sitting down without being asked.” Woman “Yes I am” Husband ‘Ma’am we have been here many times and we are good customers we would never do this.” At this point our order of baked clams arrived and we now had the hostess the waiter and the Woman standing by our table. I was extremely embarrassed for my husband and myself at this point. My husband was visibly upset and has the type of medical condition that is affected adversely by stress. Husband “ what do you want us to do. Do you want us to get up from our table and leave the establishment”? Woman “Yes please leave.” She then pointed to the door at that point and waved This situation could have been handled in a professional and courteous manner. We were treated so disrespectfully. So, as to not acerbate the situation further we got up and left. The hostess and the waiter were completely bewildered at this juncture not to mention the other patrons in the restaurant. It was truly an unbelievable experience, and we were totally innocent of any wrongdoing. We won’t be going back to this place which is unfortunate because we always enjoyed ourselves there. Not recommending this place for anyone else. We have been south Florida residents for over 45 years and live in an over 55 community. We are professional people that owned a successful professional practice before retiring. Be sure that we will be disseminating this story far and wide. The Woman should take a course on how to treat customers. Very...
Read moreIt was a Wednesday night and we were in the area and looking for an Italian restaurant, so we decided to try out Fiorella Italian Restaurant based on their good reviews. We were surprised to find that the restaurant was packed on a Wednesday, but we thought, "Hey, this place must be great if this many people want to eat here!" Unfortunately, we were wrong.
First, the customer service was awful. When we walked inside, there was no hostess at the stand, but there were 3 other groups waiting to put their names down on the list. We all stood there for quite some time until a hostess finally appeared. A server also came over and started flailing his arms around and telling people to "get out of the doorway because they were letting out all of the air conditioning".
After we were seated, it took quite a while before our server came over to us. Once he did, we ordered our food and received our salads fairly quickly, but then, we waited for our entrees. And waited. And waited. And waited. We timed it. We didn't see our server again for 40 minutes. I take that back, we DID see him, but he was only interested in helping the other larger parties. I suppose the larger tips were more appealing to him and he just didn't have the time for a measly table of three(?). All of our attempts to flag him down went unnoticed. We had run out of water and were dying of thirst, so we flagged down a different server who kindly sent someone to bring us some water. Tables that had been seated after us (in a different server's area) were already eating and finishing up their meals while we just sat, waiting. After waiting some more time, I finally got up to walk towards the kitchen to see what was going on. Our server came out of the kitchen and gruffly said, "I know, I'm still waiting on your food.", so I sat back down and waited. And waited. After 50 minutes, he finally appeared with our food. There was no apology, no offer of a discount for the ridiculous amount of time the food took, no free beverage for our wait, just, "Here you go." I've worked in the restaurant business and this is not the professionalism one would expect.
The food itself was also disappointing. The portion sizes were huge which, based on the older demographic that mostly occupied the restaurant, I'm guessing most people loved, but QUANTITY does not equal QUALITY. I ordered the Salmon Piccata and it was DROWNING in some kind of red sauce with tons of overcooked spinach below it. Definitely not the "light lemon butter wine sauce" that it should have been in. We also ordered the Linguini Frutta di Mare. The seafood did not taste fresh at all.
The two good things this restaurant had going for it were the attentive bussers who cleared away our plates quickly and brought us more bread and the singer that was hired for the entertainment. He was very talented. Sadly, those are two things are not enough for me to recommend anyone to come here and we will definitely...
Read moreI’ve lived in lake Charleston area for 8 years, I’ve ordered take out here a million times and dined in many times, the food is delicious! However, my most recent experience really shifted my opinion on Fiorellas and disappointed me. I came in on Sunday early evening (4:30pm) with my sister and our 3 kids to purposely avoid a dinner rush especially dining with kids. We were seated in a booth and the restaurant was empty. There were no kid’s menus printed so we had to get that info from the server, therefore we were not aware kids drinks are not included with their meal. They were also out of apple juice so that was another disappointment of the visit. The real issue came when they seated a table of 4 senior citizens directly behind our booth where my two year old was sitting with me, when the entire restaurant was empty. Obviously this group does not want to deal with a toddler and I don’t blame them, the woman continuously turned around to give us dirty looks and eventually confronted me to request my toddler “stop shaking the seat” since our booths were connected. This obviously ruined our meal as I was then worried the whole time about my daughter further upsetting them. I’m not sure why the host or even the server would ever think it’s a good idea to seat a group of adults right next to a group of children, especially when the restaurant was completely empty!!! Then to top off the experience, the server charged us for the wrong meal and put a more expensive option which I had to bring to her attention. Overall I felt we were burden from the minute we walked in until we left, the server was not a friendly or warm person and made us feel like an obligation. I viewed this restaurant as family friendly as they are in the center of one of the most family oriented neighborhoods, but would definitely hesitate to ever return with my kids. And I don’t mean family friendly like Chuck E. Cheese, I know it’s not a playground. But my kids should be able to order a meal and wiggle in their seat when it’s a two year old waiting 45 mins for the food to come out. She wasn’t screaming, throwing or acting like an animal, she was acting like a normal two year old. A $100 dinner for 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals only to leave disappointed and disgusted with the whole experience. Provided a pic of the empty...
