Well I’m glad this establishment is getting lots of 5-star reviews from people “hoping it will open soon” and gushing “friends and family”, because if their service fails to improve, their star rating will plummet! Our experience today tracks exactly like those other dissatisfied patrons. My husband and I decided to try Murphy’s for lunch today, and chose to sit at the bar since it was not crowded and we figured it would be faster. Wrong. We sat right next to where the bartender was fixing drinks. He did not greet us, offer us water or a menu. We figured he was busy with the drinks. Then two people came in and sat at a hi-top in the bar area, after we’d been sitting in silence for at least 5 minutes. The bartender walked around the bar, brought the newcomers water and menus and took their order. Finally he acknowledged us and asked if we’d like to see menus…we said yes…he went back to what he was doing. Several minutes went by, still no menus. I finally had to ask the “Host” who had come over to clear away plates on the bar to please get us menus, which he did. We had now been sitting at the bar for over 10 minutes and we had not been asked for drink orders. At this point my husband wanted to leave, but I was hungry. He finally took our drink orders…a glass of wine and a draft beer. I finally got my glass of wine 15 minutes after we first sat down. Sadly my husband’s beer spent another agonizing 3-4 minutes still at the draft station waiting for the 3 inch foam head to settle down! When we finally placed our food order, my husband was told “sorry we won’t have that until the grand opening “! That was that…we said forget food, just cash us out. The bill for drinks was $14, my husband handed the bartender a $20, but he couldn’t break the bill…apparently no change in the till🤦🏼♀️ So we charged and then left! If this is their “soft opening”, I’d say they had better step up their service staff training or this establishment will be...
Read moreIt was an unfortunate experience. I had planned to start with an Old Fashion, along with fried mozzarella appetizer. Then serve me a Murphys Burger along with a side of Mac and Cheese. All of the would have defined how tasty their food is, warranting me to come back on a hot, sunny, and humid evening.... But it didn't get that far. It didn't get as far as water being provided.
For 25 mins I saw 2 tables come and go with no service. I was the third table to leave.
There is definitely a need to teach all staff to continously greet sat tables that have menus and no water. The owner walked by several times, the hostess asked once if anyone has been by, "let me send someone over." But no such luck.
What's worse is that the bar top was full, everyone had their drinks and food and for a good 10 mins, 3 bartenders just milled around, not paying an ounce of attention to several tables needing help. I made more eye contact with the patrons at the bar, shrugging my shoulders, on why I still haven't been asked for water.
This is a new owner failure, thinking they hired wait staff with experience and that will lead to a great table side expeirence, but all the wait staff failed to be attentive to the customers for basic needs.
Golden rule, priority one is greet a newly sat table ASAP. Failure to do so is a sign of further disconnect with staff and more delays in food. Two tables got sat after I did and knew the rule and quickly exited even before I did. Part of me wanted to see how long I would sit there without a greeting and water at least...

Read moreI first visited on the first day of the soft opening, and had to leave before my food evens arrived because it was over an hour after ordering, not to mention less than stellar staff. They were simply overwhelmed in my view, and was not going to let this one soft opening visit be how I viewed the establishment that had potential to overcome early setbacks. I decided to wait a few weeks before visiting again, I first visited on the first day of the soft opening, and had to leave before my food evens arrived because it was over an hour after ordering, not to mention less than stellar staff. I decided to wait a few weeks before visiting again, and today was the day to give it another try. Went a bit early since it's a Friday (520pm), which turned out to be clutch. Immediately got seated and a waitress came by to take the order. We opted to order food and drinks at the same time. Drinks arrived quickly, and food not long after. Everything came out as ordered, hot from the kitchen. Glad they were able to bounce back from the hectic first day and week or so after that. This area really needs a good casual dining option, and if they continue to deliver consistent good quality food and service at a great price, people will keep...
