Based on reviews here in Google and in NextDoor, I had high expectations for Gyro Greek. We try our best to support local small businesses, so we had great hopes for this new place.
Some of those hopes were met, some weren't. My wife loved her Philly sandwich and was very happy. The 2 guys working the front were really nice, friendly, and welcoming. So far so good.
I was not quite as happy with my experience, mostly relating to my food. I had read that the Gyro meat is carved to order, but for me it wasn't. It came cut into tiny bits from a metal container. This method does not promote moistness and freshness though it did taste decently well. Pretty disappointing. Perhaps it was because we arrived on a Thursday close to 8 PM. So we will try again in the near future, closer to the main dinner hours.
The Greek salad seems to have potential given that the greens and tomatoes seemed fresh. That is, until I realized the Feta was just awful. Not really sure it was even Feta- the texture and taste were all wrong. It was chewy and grated like cheddar. Feta crumbles, and it is most definitely not chewy. Very disappointing.
Net/net I give Gyro Greek 4 stars based on my wife's food, the friendly owners, and the novelty of the new shop. We will be back to try again, and I hope to provide a grateful 5...

My wife got the Philly chicken pocket combo which she thought was delicious and the ranch AND taiziki was really really good. Really happy that greenbrier has added this and believe it could be a new staple...
