The waitresses are amazing well at least the older ones are. It's hit or miss with the younger ones. The reason I put one star is because of the lack of accountability when confronted with a situation about price. I did some research with the local diners and for 4 pancakes you would spend roughly 6-9 dollars that's including taxes. With this restaurant I went to go pick up four pancakes for an older couple and for the past 20 odd years it is only been about $10 for the specialty pancakes which are blueberry and chocolate chip. And that's what their menu even says online now today I went in and it was almost $20 for four pancakes and I told them sorry but your menu online says different instead of saying oh well that's our fault we need to update our thing it was a situation where they were like that's not our fault someone else does the website. And okay that's fine if someone else does your website great but when you go on to any website that represents the store they all have the same menu and all say the same price. People come to your diner under the impression that you have great prices if they get there and they're left in the situation where there going to pay almost triple what the original price was and we don't plan on changing anything because that's our way of scamming people into paying for food we made under false pretenses. Between the waitresses saying I've been here 9 years and the menu has never been priced like that to proving them wrong with pictures of people posting the menu just a couple years ago and them sticking to their story insisting your wrong to literally looking at the receipt and thinking to myself wow inflation isn't that bad like do you know how many boxes of pancake mix you can buy for $20. Maybe I'm just venting but you know I personally believe that when you use delivery places to help make you money and they're still under the same mindset that the prices are the same as what they are online and then they're left with the situation where they go in to grab the food and they see that it's priced so high that they know that there's a mistake and they don't want to go to deliver that food just to be told hey I'm not paying that much for this and then they're stuck in between a rock and a hard place you had no problem using all those websites to list your number and your address you updated that when it's needed just not your menu. I guess what I'm saying is if you want more bang for your buck just go to a different diner there's like five within a 5-mile radius of this place and they're all priced so much better. The person who ordered didn't want the breakfast instead he bought half the order because he was on the fixed income and he didn't realize it was going to cost that muchI literally felt so bad for the older gentleman that ordered breakfast after he told me it was his birthday and he only wanted to eat breakfast with his wife for his birthday that's when it hit me that this man was saying he doesn't know if next year is guaranteed for him it hit me hard so I decided to call another diner and got the same order and took it to him for free so him and his wife could eat breakfast together on...

I was extremely disappointed my last visit, which may truly be my last visit, this past Wed evening. I patronize this restaurant 2-3 times a month on average. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast, mashed potato, and soup since they were out of vegetables, which surprised me since they still had two hours of service left. I was quickly served my order and found it kind of odd that it was accompanied by a steak knife. I tried cutting into my chicken breast which was smothered in gravy and then realized why the steak knife! I managed to cut off two small pieces from the softest end and with hesitation tried a bite. It was unchewable. I scraped off the mound of gravy and the chicken looked as if it was freezer burnt and then cooked. It was disgusting to say the least and almost, if not, inedible. I pointed this out to the waitress with accompanying demonstration and all she said was "I'm sorry. Would you like your ice cream now." I tried hinting that since I ate nothing but three bites of potato's could she comp the meal and it didn't register with her at all. I then proceeded to the cashier who ask me how my meal was, and politely explained. His response was a deer in the headlights look. Not wanting to cause a scene, I again hinted at a comp meal or at least to pay for my soup and potato's, but it just didn't register with him either. He just said that will be $15.32, I'm sorry, and never paid any interest to his "was everything alright tonight" question. I paid and left in haste as I was very frustrated with the outcome. No management was noticeably present, and no one seemed to want to address my concern/ complaint. After years of enjoyment of patronizing this establishment, I doubt that I will return. It was a very unacceptable conclusion to a evening meal out, and expensive since I am elderly and on a very...

It’s been a long time since I stopped in here-trying to support the local economy with takeout in the heat of summer-

First- I came here because several years ago, when I was organizing “empty bowls” for the gleaning project, without more than a quick explanation, Stella the owner agreed to contribute to the fundraiser- they donated so much food for the fundraiser, and I remembered that -

Second, I called in to place my order- the young man in the phone was so patient and kind in taking my order and thorough- find that in a lot of places today!

My order was ready when I got there- it was correct and packaged perfectly for the ride home- in a heavy duty box- the ice cream did not make it past the boys in the back seat but the rest of the dinner did- when I went to leave, I looked around- many couples eating in the early afternoon- the front staff greeting them by name, telling them their booths may not be available but they would get them situated at another- not too many places when you go out to eat that the staff recall your name. It impressed me and made me think of the restaurants I used to go to where I grew up-they are not simply serving up food, they are an active part of the community-whistle stop cafe anyone?

If you want up a nice serving of manners, patience, nostalgia and some American restaurant food, the experience did not disappoint. Five stars and over for a restaurant owner donating to a cause right off the bat without any contacts within the organization- everyone likes their forms and documents- Stella contributed because she liked the idea of what we were doing and supported it- one turn deserves another, we need to make a point to...

A truly hidden gem. This diner was amazing from the staff, to the environment, to the food. When we entered the diner we were instantly welcomed by the many servers. Our server Nate was by far the best server we have ever had. He was extremely friendly and super attentive. The restaurant was extremely clean. The food was exceptionally fresh and delicious. I would recommend the broasted chicken and mac and cheese. The pork and sauerkraut was also very good. Prices are comparable to other diners in the area. Highly recommend and we will be back!!

Great place to stop and eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! The prices are great and the amount of food you get for that is even better. I enjoyed my bacon cheese burger with the ton of fries that I received. View the picture that I have attached to see all that I got for under $10!!!!
