We wandered out of the jungle into a small village in Cambodia, where the locals were friendly and eager to meet us. Only one of the younger villagers spoke English, so it took some time to communicate. After a while our new friends took us to meet the village elders, which we assumed was a great honor. The elders had gathered in a large hut near the river and welcomed us warmly. The oldest of them took our hands and looked around at the others in the tribe to get their full attention... "Jahmrum!" he exclaimed, and the others all responded with "Ah! Jahmrum!" accompanied by nods and smiles. We looked to our translator, who could see the puzzlement on our faces and proceeded to tell us of a legend all his people knew...
He told us of a tribe of hill people in a faraway land that had wandered aimlessly for a long time. They had been poisoned slowly by mediocre beverages promoted by sports teams and racing events until they had almost no culture at all. Then one day, a smaller group of that tribe created a new place for gathering that was centered around beverages crafted locally, great music and celebration. Many resisted at first, but over time, these beverages healed the culture of the tribe and made the hill people more fun to hang out with. "Jahmrum" he said, "is what we call this legend and how we describe anyone that brings something cool into the village."
Years later, my brother called me to tell me about his new brewery. "The beer around here sucks" he said, and proceeded to tell me the details of what they were doing. "What will you call it?" I asked. "Jam Room Brewing Company" he replied, and I fell silent. Jahmrum... Jam Room... The legend......
Read moreDisgruntled, disappointed, miffed customer here. Just took my entire extended family out to this wretched establishment expecting a large, filling, and succulent meal. Boy was I incorrect about my hypothesis. I have no one to blame other than my younger naïve self and listening to the other reviewers.
To get started, my family and I are huge rib fans. Rather, we were before I had the misfortune to step into this prison. They had the audacity to tell me that they ran out of ribs. OK, I could live with that. Although my rather seismic Uncle Herbert from then on kept giving me the stink eye when I told him the news. With great aplomb, I told Uncle Herb that I would get him the chorizo dip. Lo and behold, they also did not have that. You should’ve seen the look on poor Herbs’s face when I told him there was no chorizo dip. Not only was my day ruined, neigh weekend, but my entire family who I brought out to this place. And I had the idea of bringing them here. I don’t know what possessed me, perhaps the thoughts of the previous enticed customers.
And I’m not finished there. The picture attached really capped off the Jam Room Brewing Company experience. I had the disastrous thought of enjoying an IPA from this self proclaimed brewing company. I decided to order the “After Midnight 2023”, the number 5 on the menu. These casuals gave me a glass the size of Uncle Herb’s left thumb.
Safe to say my entire family and anyone who happens to have a conversation with me for the rest of my life will be directed to this review when asked about Jam Room Brewing Company. As God is my witness, I pray for anyone who stumbles across this sloppy excuse...

We had such an unforgettable experience at The Jam Room! From the moment we walked in, every single staff member—from the hostess and bartender to the chef and waitstaff—made us feel genuinely welcome. They each took a moment to greet us, and even complimented my son Elijah (5) on how dapper he looked, which made his day!
The kindness and attention didn’t stop there—they gave us a full tour of the space, making sure we felt at home. There was an Entire bin for kids filled with toys, a giant connect four, chalk board, and they even grabbed instruments and encouraged my little guy to join in. The vibe was just incredible, the live band was fantastic, and the food hit the spot (Elijah gives the chicken nuggets and fries two thumbs up!). Even the fellow patrons were warm and friendly, creating an atmosphere that was as joyful as it was inclusive (to pets and children alike, they even had dog toys and a bowl!).
This place is so much more than a brewery—it’s a community. Thank you for the hospitality and the heart. We’ll absolutely be back! In fact we’ll see...
