Backwood Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in Greenfield

Their website mentioned a buffet and that is what brought us in. But, since COVID there is no buffet. Despite my initial disappointment we were ushered to our table. It was approaching lunch time and I was torn between numerous sandwiches. But then I saw their “back country” breakfast”. And the decision was made. WOW! It was incredible! Eggs, bacon or sausage, fries or hash browns, pancakes or biscuits and gravy. Those were the best biscuits and gravy that I have ever had! I must have repeated “this is delicious” 10 times during that meal. So before I forgot any details I left this review. Michelle our waitress just celebrated her 17th year working here and we could not have asked for a more attentive, friendly waitress. Went there for lunch on a bad day I guess. Its been a month or two when I took my Grandfather to the veterans hospital for a check up. Starving we decided not to head into Stockton and stop here. after we were seated and given menus they took our drinks order! After getting or drinks we were informed that the kitchen had no power and the were only serving a few things. That being said my Grandmother is a vegan an she wasn't even going to be able to eat so we paid for our over priced drinks and left. I feel they could have told us before we were seated since this was a on going problem before we arrived. This being said I could not tell you how the food was besides french fries and burgers, which were horrible and very greasy. I still don't understand how they cooked burgers and fries...

Great food with a small town atmosphere. waitresses are fast good and friendly Terry is a great waitress I recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling through
