Who has ever heard of hand battered, shoestring onion rings? Gross. Service was excellent, food was not good. We didn't eat the ice cream, but that seems to be their main seller. Their menu is so full there's no way for them to specialize in any dish. Again, the waiter was awesome! When they asked how the food was, I politely said, "good," with a grimace. They asked if I needed a box, I said, "no, they I wouldn't eat those. I expected regular onion rings". They said, "yeah, we don't have the regular kind.". Then, I paid full price and we left. I feel really guilty that I left a $2 tip, but my shimp tasted like fries and I didn't eat any of the onion rings and voiced the problem. We would like to try the ice cream, but I will never order food from there again....
Read moreDrove over 30 minutes to eat here and was not disappointed. Good old fashioned food! To those whining about their onion rings, all I can say is that you're missing out, they are DELICIOUS! I love them! The fries are hand cut and just like the ones we used to make at home. Yes, they're different than chain restaurant fries, but that doesn't mean they're bad by any means. Anyone marking this place down because it wasn't what they expected is missing the point. We were able to feed a family of 4, including dessert, for the same amount that you could feed 2 for at many other places. The food was great, and so was the service. Overall a VERY good experience. The only negative thing is that I live too far away to eat...
Read moreSuper impressed with this place. If you're in the area you should eat here. It's an old soda shop themed restaurant, so don't expect Michelin quality, but dang if I didn't want to try every item on their menu. It's as if you picked the specialty sandwich/sides/ice cream and a comparable if not lower price from every other place and rolled them all into one shop. That's not even to speak on that the owner, who was also on the grill, came up to my family for a simple greet, hello, what did you guys do today friendly little conversation that made us feel like we were part of the town. Couldn't speak higher of the place. Going to go to the local beaches again next weekend just...
