I stopped in the other morning (Tuesday - 07/29) to finally try this place out for the first time. It’s near me but it’s not on my typical route. And honestly, I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. First off, the coffee shop itself is absolutely adorable! It’s small and quaint, and the paintings on the walls just feel so cozy and welcoming, and the atmosphere itself was very warm. Exactly what I envisioned before visiting. I was greeted by the guy at the counter and when I told him it was my first time, he was very excited and welcoming. That felt nice. I ordered one of their specials - the Blueberry Cobbler Latte. Aside from the crumbly (I’m assuming graham cracker crumbs?) toppings, it seemed to be a regular latte and was just overall lacking in flavor. I got more grit from the blueberry and graham cracker toppings than anything, and just made a mental note not to get that flavor again - I’ll try something new next time. They also had a wide variety of bakery items, and the muffins looked delicious - I ordered one of the chocolate chip muffins. They asked me if I wanted it warmed, to which I said yes, that would be great and I waited to the side of the store for it while they took other guests orders behind me. A few minutes go by, the employees behind the counter didn’t seem too busy (obviously idk what they have going on, I didn’t question it), and one seemed to just be popping into the store to grab herself something to eat (she left around the same time I did). All three of them caught my attention but none of them asked if I was waiting on anything or if I needed something - including the guy who took my order. A few more minutes go by, and the guy behind the counter is taking another order, but he notices a muffin (I just knew it was my muffin) underneath the counter at the register - I immediately thought this was odd because any place I’ve worked at with a register, it’s just junk under that counter. He asks his coworker ā€œwhose muffin is this?ā€ as he tosses it to the side. Again, neither of them asking me if I’m waiting on something or even remembering that it is mine. I politely walk over to the counter and ask ā€œis it my muffin?ā€ to which he just kind of chuckles and hands it over. No apology or anything. That rubbed me the wrong way - not going to lie. Lastly, while I appreciate the muffin was fresh and warm, it was VERY eggy - my drive to work and upon arrival, I kept wondering why I was smelling so much egg but later realized it was the muffin. On top of it being eggy, the chocolate chips on top seemed to only be on top, there weren’t any chocolate chips in the muffin mix so essentially it was a regular eggy muffin with a few chocolate chips sprinkled on top (see photo). Very disappointing considering I could tell the muffin was fresh and would have been good had it actually had chocolate chips mixed in. I couldn’t even finish it. I want to try this place again because it seemed to just been an off day with some little mistakes, and I understand that. But to see other reviews with similar instances - especially with the coffee lacking flavor - is just a little disheartening.

my home away from home. šŸ„ŗšŸ¤ I come here almost every morning because well the coffee is top notch, the syrups are housemade(HELLO), it’s extremely affordable but man, the people… the people are my absolute favorite. You are seen and loved by the people who work here not just as a customer but as a friend. I always brag that Greenville has the best coffee scene but if I’m honest, daydrinkers is elite. Thank you Emma, Ava, Alex, Defiance, Fuller, Laura, Miles, Nikki, Katie, Selim, and if I missed anyone I’m sorryšŸ¤ you guys make daydrinkers so, so special!!

This is such a cute coffee shop and it was packed when arriving! Definitely a great spot for coffee, reading, studying or just hanging out with friends! There is additional seating outside in front of the shop as well as behind.

This is the best coffee shop IN THE WORLD. I would know, because I have been to every coffee shop in the world and scored each one with my validated and completely objective 5-Dimensional SCale of Coffee shop Greatness (5-D SCoG, colloquially know as the CoCoASS scale; Singleton et al, The New England Journal of Coffee, 2022). There is no better coffee shop than this one as it scored the highest in all 5 dimensions (in no particular order of greatness): COFFEE, COMMUNITY, ATMOSPHERE, SERVICE, SNACKS (abbreviated as CoCoASS herein). Looking for a chill place to study, meet a friend, or bring the family (including pets)? Look no further. Do you like friendly baristas that make you feel special and remember your name? What about GREAT coffee and a staff that accommodates unique orders? Most importantly, daydrinkers is a cornerstone of a vibrant, active, and welcoming community so come soak up the vibes produced by the synergistic consequences of through the roof CoCoASS scores. Enjoy rotating seasonal favorites like pumpkin spice, and everything nice. Get the beat on local events perusing the flyers inside the bathroom. Hear just the right amount of T Swift over the speakers. Make yourself at home at one of the tables, or the super chill comfy chair and floor seating area perfect for catching up with friends or petting pets. Come back on the reg for pop-up offerings by local artisans and support the local economy. Don’t trust me, trust the science. Most importantly, support your local...

5 Star Friends behind the counter.

Newish to Greenville and have not had a chance to peruse the coffee scene much. Ive checked out only a handful of places, most underwhelming, mostly because of the people, but daydrinkers was everything a visit to the coffee shop should be. Let me tell you why.

I walk in and am greeted by two friendly faces behind the counter. One of the asks me what Id like and I said Im interested in buying some beans. Like I expect from most who enjoy coffee, especially those behind the counter at a coffee shop, shes got questions and Ive got answers! I always enjoy this exchange. I really enjoy coffee, and love learning about it from those in the business through their beans.

She told me about some of the roasters in the area and who to check out. She let me try their blend and the beans they use for espresso at daydrinkers. All offered--highly appreciated. We had a great conversation about coffee, machines and then the other friendly face behind the counter joined the conversation! Had some laughs, learned about their beans and other roasters to check out in the area. This is what makes the coffee shop space unique. It's It offers a warm hug through notes and dork level conversations about all things coffee. It's always welcoming and never pretentious.

Notes: tricky parking. Also, seems like seating is prized real estate. Hope you can get a seat!

I enjoyed a latte togo and took a bag of beans home. I absolutely will revisit daydrinkers....
