A Hidden Gem in the Delta – Review of Italiano’s in Greenville, MS
Having dined at Italiano’s in Greenville, Mississippi three times now, I can say with complete confidence that this charming local Italian restaurant is nothing short of exceptional. Each visit has only deepened my appreciation for their incredible food, warm hospitality, and consistently outstanding service. Whether you’re a local or just passing through the Mississippi Delta, Italiano’s is a must-visit.
From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cozy, inviting atmosphere that feels both casual and special—perfect for a romantic dinner, a family night out, or just a well-deserved meal after a long day. The staff is always welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, striking that perfect balance of professionalism and Southern friendliness.
Let’s talk about the food, which is the real star of the show. On my first visit, I tried their Chicken Parmigiana, and it absolutely blew me away. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the mozzarella sauce and cheese rich and creamy without being heavy, and the chicken tender and flavorful. I left that night genuinely impressed—and curious to try more.
My second visit, I went with a classic: the lasagna. It was everything I hoped for and more. Layered with a well-seasoned meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and bubbling mozzarella, it had that homemade taste that transports you straight to a family kitchen in Italy. The portion was generous, and every bite was pure comfort.
On my most recent visit, I decided to get an appetizer. The Spinach and Artichoke dip was absolutely phenomenal definitely a great starter! I went with the Shrimp Scampi for dinner, and once again, Italiano’s delivered. The shrimp were large, fresh, and perfectly sautéed in a garlicky white-wine sauce that clung beautifully to the pasta. It was elegant, flavorful, and satisfying.
Of course, no visit to Italiano’s would be complete without starting with their wonderful salad and Garlic Bread—crispy on the edges, soft in the middle, and just the right amount of buttery garlic goodness. Pair that with a glass of wine from their well-curated list, and you're in for a treat.
But what really sets Italiano’s apart isn’t just the food—it’s the consistency and heart behind everything they do. The service is always attentive, and they make you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time. The waitstaff remembers your preferences, checks in at just the right times, and genuinely seems to enjoy being part of such a wonderful establishment.
It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers exceptional quality, consistency, and hospitality across multiple visits, but Italiano’s does just that. After three meals here, I can confidently say that this is one of Greenville’s true culinary treasures.
If you're craving authentic Italian cuisine served with care and warmth, look no further than Italiano’s. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m...
Read moreMy great great grandfather built this building as his home years ago. We all traveled for two hours to get there. Even though we had a large party, it took 45 minutes to get a glass of tea…. meanwhile, the new table of 6 next to us was already served their salads. They had only been there for 10 minutes! After being at the table for more than an hour and a half…. WITH NO FOOD ORDERS TAKEN… my party of three had to leave and eat the only other thing in a 20 mile radius… McDonalds! I would love to tell you the food was great but I never got a chance to try it. The manager…. instead of waiving the fee for the three teas we didn’t finish…. made me pay for them then said “Dinner parties are more like 4 hours here. Be prepared next time you come”. I think this will be a part of my family history I WILL NEVER appreciate again… oh and did I mention that several of us shared a box of power bars because we were starving….We ate them right in front of our server and she didn’t see this as a red flag at all! This place may have excellent food but their guests mean absolutely NOTHING to them! I...
Read moreGreenville, Mississippi is not a big town but was extremely surprised to find an Italian restaurant that served food as good as any I've eaten in Europe and that includes Italy. Mike owns the place and his brother, Joe helps out. Wife had eggplant parmesan and I had the veal al casa. Both were well prepared dishes, tender and flavorful! My wife related she would have used the rest of that delicious bread to sop up the remaining superb bolognese sauce but she was stuffed. Then there was the tiramasu... Really, really good! She had a few bites and I happily wolfed the rest. We're just passing through town but next time we do we will definitely make this our dinner spot! The restaurant is located in a refurbished house and has a nice comfortable vibe. It's in an odd location behind a stripmall and just past the old Chinese cemetery historical marker (Chinese cemetery in Mississippi made me blink too) but there's signs on the street. Friday night so was filling rapidly. My thanks for a wonderful...
