Sakura Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Greenwood

I normally don’t take the time to do food reviews, but it would be very remiss of me if I didn’t take the opportunity to share my experience. Yesterday, I joined a party of 11 to celebrate my friend’s daughter 15th birthday. She wanted to give her friends a different experience, and I was thought that was awesome. However, the experience went from okay to the worst ever. It was my very first time trying this particular restaurant, and I was excited. The food was delivered maybe 30-45 minutes after our orders were taken. I ordered the chicken and shrimp combination, and it was very bland. Tasteless at its finest. However, I added sauces to get through the meal. There was another party of 10 sitting in the same area. Once their tickets were distributed, the waitress stated that they could take their time and pay when they were ready. Shortly after, our tickets were distributed. My friend daughter’s table was told to pay as soon as their tickets hit the table (They were still eating). The waitress was very rude as she went from person to person to make sure they had money to pay for their meal. Like be serious, do you think all of us will come to this establishment, dine, and leave without paying? Wrong group of black folk! We eat and PAY! I stated that we would get the same grace that she gave the other party. She proceeded to say that if we didn’t like her actions, we could talk to the manager. The waitress was just outright racist and rude. It was disgusting. Although the manager tried to diffuse the situation, she didn’t try to accommodate us in any way. It was as if she tried to cover up for a piss poor experience. In addition, the waitress banged on the table and told my friend’s daughter and friends that she didn’t need their money because the other party tipped her $84 dollars. It was very evident that we weren’t welcomed to this establishment. It was also evident that racism ran through the veins of the waitress. Amazing service with all waitresses food was wonderful as well although while our family was there it was a party in the back being very rude to the white waiter there who I know personally and her family who are mixed with black white Mexicanthey called her racist destroyed the tables knowing she has to clean that also threaten the waitress as well I honestly believe they had no attention of paying there bills at all and when the waitress heard them they got very hostile and talking about catching her outaide work to jump her it was a birthday party of 15 very rude and ungrateful after they cater to there every need plus the new they made didn't even bother to tip the two waitress's at all that's how they live and it's Christmas time at that people amaze me acting plumb ignorant...

If I could give a zero rating I would. Our dinner was honestly the worst food I have been served in a restaurant. Beef-onion soup and ice tea were the only thing worth eating. Ordered 2 different sushi rolls……horrible. Could not chew the nori up. Literally had to pull it out of our mouths to be able to eat the rest of the bite. Tried both rolls….both were this way. Teriyaki chicken was tasteless. Rice was extremely sticky and mushy. Left 80% of 2 dinners and 2 sushi rolls on plates to be trashed. Waitress was very friendly.
