If I could give a 0, I would. I went for a DQ, & ordered a cookie dough blizzard and added strawberries to it. Per the DQ website this recipe includes âChocolate chip cookie dough and rich fudge blended with creamy DQÂŽ soft serve to BlizzardÂŽ Treat perfectionâ. So this is what I expected, plus strawberries. Unfortunately they substituted the chocolate with strawberries, therefore the chocolate was missing. No biggie, this is a simple mistake, and a quick fix. So it thoughtâŚ. I wasnât appropriately dressed so my mother went in to ask them to add the hot fudge chocolate. The assistant manager Kathy, was nasty, curt, and disrespectful while telling my mom she âmade it herselfâ, and it has strawberries & thatâs what I asked for.. she also said the sprinkles of dark specs (which were the size of pepper or strawberry seeds, which is what they were) was supposedly the chocolate . She then said sheâd have to charge for chocolate. My mother returned upset by Kathyâs demeanor & unprofessionalism so now Iâm livid. This wasnât necessary; nor was it warranted. I went in and demanded a refund. Kathy asked why, I told her it wasnât made correctly, in which she reiterated what she told my mom. I then said again,â I donât want it bc it wasnât made right.â Thankfully she refunded my money and I left. But Kathy was nasty (literally, with matted red hair, dirty glasses & her work shirt was filthy) and unfortunately her attitude matched her appearance. This was a simple misunderstanding that became worse because she lacks the managerial skills to admit she messed up the order, and the sense to have any decorum while speaking to customers. I truly feel sorry for the employees under her leadership (or lack there of); they looked miserable when I walked in...
Read moreI have always enjoyed Diary Queen. I grew up in Gretna and have many fond memories of this establishment. However, this morning we went to take my mother in law out for breakfast before she drove to Duke to see her husband who has been transferred to hospice care. After ordering, we realized they were out of coffee on the self serve side and when we mentioned it to the staff we were told âthey can drink something else.â I would have said something then if another employee hadnât started brewing more coffee right away. That was very inconsiderate and Iâm thankful my mother in law did not hear it during this already emotional time. After today it will definitely be a while before I return...
Read moreI like stopping at Dairy Queens every now & then. Not that many around anymore. But the nostalgia has ended. Stopped got 2 hotdogs, a tea, and a small Blizzard. Over 13 dollars. I have always thought it was odd they charge you for cole-slaw on hotdogs, 60 cent per hotdog. Last professional sporting event I went to, hotdogs any way you want them $2 and they charged $5 for a soda tax already included. So Dairy Queen is charging sporting event prices though DQ drink price is reasonable. And they didn't even add ketchup like I asked:(. Decent Hotdogs but most good gas station grills have better. Blizzard was excellent. Might stop again for ice cream but will not plan on stopping for...
