I really want to love the Gretna location because Iāve loved Stories since the location off 180th and was devastated when they closed. I was thrilled to hear this location was opening because itās very close to where I live now.
Iāve been here many times since this location opened and always find myself hoping I came on an off day, but sadly, I think this is status quo. The coffee is just passably okay. The shop would benefit from hiring seriously experienced baristas who live and breathe coffee. The food is always disappointing. Nothing seems to be freshly made. The menu is subpar and limited and totally uninspired. I ordered a hummus āplateā last week and received a plastic carton with watery hummus and shriveled vegetables. The condiment āstation,ā which is a single plastic organizer for salt/pepper and sugar is never filled. The floor always looks like it hasnāt seen a broom or a mop since it opened. On a positive note, the staff Iāve interacted with are always friendly.
Other than sharing a name, it has nothing in common with the charming coffeehouse I fell in love with almost 10 years ago when I first moved to the area. I take no joy in leaving a negative review, but I really want this place to improve and realize its potential. Gretna sorely needs a great coffee house, and I really wanted this place to be it, but itās not there yet by...

I know your a coffee shop but I have never had coffee and never willā¦Iām interested in snack and lunch items, that are fresh made and tastee to sit and work for awhile and enjoy.. I ordered a pop and bagel as this was the only āfreshā thing I could find. The muffins and rolls were all frozen and in cooler section, not at all fresh. I asked for a toasted bagel well buttered. I received a very tired, hard thru and barely warmedā¦then received little tiny butter FROZEN! Just try spreading that before and possible warmth from the bagel is totally gone. VERY UPSET, I pack up and go to the counter to explain why I was leaving, not even taking a sip of pop or tasting the bagel, i got nothing, just more cold! One other person in shopā¦Figure out how to have one or two FRESH options for folksā¦this can be just 2 or 3 items so there is no waste, hire someone that can do this for you and you will be far and above all other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeāve always wanted to go here as it was in the area but we never managed to find a good time. We made it today and as we walked in, we noticed how beautiful the inside was. There was plenty of people and it was all very modern but sophisticated.
Service was very friendly, we received recommendations and also opinions about their food when we asked which is always nice. The coffee was about on par for a coffee place, it wasnāt mind blowing but it wasnāt cheap tasting either.
Unfortunately the food leaves a lot to be desired. Ultimately paying $10.25 for a turkey BLT was super disappointing. That sandwich looked like it cost no more than $2 to make and it was very bland, dry bread. Tasted good but huge buyers remorse for the food.
We also tried the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. The sausage patty seemed to be a millimeter thick so you can tell theyāre skimping.
Overall 3/5. Avoid the food fully but coffee is good. Seems like a nice...
