Greg's Pizza — Restaurant in Grifton

Quite possibly the most repulsive baked ziti I’ve ever seen or tried to taste. Bland tasteless overcooked pasta with no sauce, a smattering of equally tasteless cheese, about 20 pea sized pieces of an unidentifiable meat, all piled on top of a layer of half cooked chunks of tomato. The Italian meat sub had about 3 slices of ham and another 3 of salami with wilted lettuce. So, they closed at 9. We walked in at 8:35 to do a quick take out order. All three employees looked extremely unhappy to see us. We weren’t offered menus just asked what we wanted. The employee at the register had no personality, and after taking our order informed us the credit card machine was out of order. When we turned to leave he began arguing that he’d already begun making our food. We told him he should have let us know at the beginning. We turned to leave again and he began raising his voice saying he could try the machine. It worked first try. 🙄 He then told us to go wait in our car. In 40° weather.

In a town with only one traffic light, Greg's is a must stop. To be such a small town, this is big Grifton highlight. In fact, there's no sandwich shop better for miles around. Located between Ayden and Kinston off Highway 11, This little known, family owned eatery serves made to order subs with world class taste at piggy bank prices. There's no delivery, but you can call your order in and have it fresh and hot for your pick up. I always make the time to sit down in their dinning area so that my mouth has a chance to water as my nose is filled with the delicious smell of my food being lovingly prepared. It would be a crime to your tummy to drive down the highway and not treat your taste buds and satisfy your appetite. The variety is large, I can't eat it all. (I've tried). So me and my husband are here for the first time and loved it. So the next week I brought 8 of my family members to dine here. Worst customer service ever we sat for 45 mins with out food. We were the only customers in the restaurant after 45 mins the staff brought out one plate at a time and missed 4 members food we never received the last 4 plates. And then one employee starts cleaning a table directly behind us with acetone the smell was so strong it made everything stop eating .
