Dean's Corner Diner — Restaurant in Griswold

7 Yrs ago I love when I'm by myself stopping in and grabbing a bite. The atmosphere is always friendly and service great. My only reason not to give the 5th star is because when I got breakfast today I had 2 cups of coffee. 1 refill. When the bill came I was charged for 2 cups. My meal and my coffee was almost the same price. I go places that do not allow unlimited refills but really? Not even 1 refill? I still like them but that is disappointing. 22 Aug 2023 Not to suggest coming here or looking for anyone to view this as harsh or anything other than truthful critique. Food quality here has really gone down hill. I have been coming here for literally decades and today's combination of my chicken and waffles and my friends biscuits and gravy was a 1 star if anything. I definitely expect more than chicken fingers or large nuggets when I order something like that and the smallest of sweet potato fries that don't end up coming out dry. And my friends gravy was very flavorless and not complementary with her biscuits so she barely ate any of it. That and please dear God get a water softener / filtration system so the water doesn't taste like literal iron. And I'm the type of dad that tells my spoiled water bottle children to go drink from the hose! I'll come back again to see if eventually they improve the food, but please...

I have tried this breakfast place 3 times now in the hope that it would get better, but each time it gets worse and the food was cold and nasty to the point we're I could not eat it was told that they were very busy but it was not and other groups the same size got there food that came in after use as me and my family wait 50mins and had to ask were are food was then it finally came out an 1hr later cold and tast like it was just setting back there and it was not made how it was asked to be when i told the wait she got the owner/ cook who blamed every one else even the waiter said that they had a lot of take out orders but no one came or left with food and then after I told him I would not eat his cold food he said is there any thing else I want I said no bc I can set for over an hr and then wait again my family wanted to eat so we eat what was edible (the cold toast with jelly) he took off one meal and that was it so we paid and will not be returning sad that they can get there act together (you can see that the grave was cold and it tast like it was...

Came for breakfast today the food was good. Waitstaff? A whole different story when I watched Tina pour two glasses of milk then stop half way through a glass to reach in with her bare finger and remove something from the inside of the glass than continued to fill the glass? Then the other waitress Was eating with her bare fingers behind the counter her watermelon. Then wipe her lips, then grab a plate to serve. This staff needs reeducation in food safety.the idea that a waitress can sit down behind the counter with her hair just inches away from the customers plate of food is well beyond disbelief. Over twenty years in the food service industry and I was appalled at this staff's lack of food safety! It might be a good thing that I could not see into the kitchen if they are this lax out in front of the house ! What is the cook's up to in the back...
