I went here on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend. They took us in for our reservation right away which was great. We ordered the chicken teriyaki dumplings and cheese curds for appetizers. They teriyaki was a little salty but the cheese curds were super good. For dinner I had the fried fish and fries. The fish was crispy and the fries were good but not worth the $18 it wasn’t very flavorful and they didn’t drain the grease off. My boyfriend got the meatloaf but it was the size of a meatball, came with unseasoned mashed potatoes, frozen peas, and overcooked mushy carrots. Also another $18 meal. We booked a month in advance and were just completely underwhelmed with the lack of flavor in the food. I tasted more when I had Covid. We also got cheesecake to go which i highly doubt was made in house but it was only $6 a slice so it could have been worse. They were out of the blueberry sauce on a busy night which is unacceptable for Valentines day. Poor planning on their part. All together for our meal it was $77. The staff was okay but took a while to come back with stuff. I think overall I wouldn’t come here again unless it was free.

Tullis Taphouse in Griswold, CT has become my go-to spot for dining and drinks when I’m in eastern CT, and for good reason. Every visit is a culinary adventure, with each dish surpassing the last in terms of flavor, presentation, and quality. We went here for some lunch and a beer. It’s located in the local golf course so you turn in at the sign for golf. Nice atmosphere and a good view. There’s bar seating, tables in the bar area and restaurant seating in a separate room. They have a good selection of beers and a full bar. It gets crowded and we got there a little while before the lunch crowd started getting there. The food was good and the prices are fair. We had looked at the menu on their website the night before but according to our waitress the online menu is old and most of the food listed isn’t available anymore. My reason for not giving them a 5 is that the waitress had an attitude from the minute she came to our table. We hadn’t said a word to her yet so I don’t think it was our fault. Also another table close by commented on her attitude also.

I have driven by this place many times and after looking at their beer and food menu was excited to check it out....vastly disappointed.

Got our first and only round of drinks with appetizer quickly. We ordered the colonel sanders chicken sandwich which was bland. The name sets an expectation that doesn't live up. Also ordered a cheeseburger which was a little under cooked which was no big deal. I asked a server for some mustard because we couldn't find our server and waited. When she finally came back to check on us, i mentioned the mustard and she seemed a bit put off because nobody told her. Well got news for you, we were 2/3s of our way through our meal before anyone asked how our meal was, a bit too late at that point. The mustard finally came when I had two bites of my sandwich remaining. The fries were ok if you like them without salt and can't get a server to bring some. Maybe bring salt and pepper out with the meal would be a nice touch.

We normally have two drinks each when we go out but were never asked if we would like a second round. The party of about 15 sitting behind us had constant service.

I give some consideration to a busy evening however but that is even a stretch for here. Unfortunately we won't be back.

Pros: nice hostess, great drink selection and hot food. Cons: Bland food, and...

The menu is very limited and please be AWARE that EVERYTHING and I do mean right down to the condiments is an upcharge! The service is hit or miss and when it comes to paying your server they literally stand there with there credit card machine for you to swipe and gratuity pops up of 18% 20% and even higher!! Say goodbye to the standard automatic 15% which I've always gone above and beyond when given great service however when you are given an automatic response all while your server is standing on top of you it makes for an uncomfortable dining experience. Please be aware that 2 burgers and 2 sodas with a tip WILL cost you OVER $50!!!! Remember NOT to ask for mayo because something as simple as a side condiment will be an additional add on! Leave ample time to pay your bill as most of the time your server is either on their phone or MIA. I gave them 2 stars simply because they do have a lovely view and the place is clean however their prices are insanely high for what you receive. Let's be honest you're not The Norwich Inn or Elizabeth's Farmhouse. Give your customers a better bang for their buck and educate your servers to actually serve and be attentive and PLEASE stop "nickel and diming" your patrons especially over something as ridiculous...

One of my favorite places to eat. The specials menu is always changing and very diverse. Healthy, fried, classic, or something new, you can count on it being on the menu. There is a large selection of craft beers as well as unique and well-made cocktails. I get the pistachio martini EVERY time I go; It is EXCELLENT. Not too sweet, rimmed with pistachios, and with a perfect pour every time. The fish fry is HUGE and maybe one of the best options on the menu. I would recommend getting the sweet potato fries with it. They are INCREDIBLE. Best I've ever had anywhere, ever. It may be on a golf course but it caters to everybody. My husband and I are an interacial couple and we feel welcome and comfortable here. You do not have to golf here to eat here. It is open to the public. Even on busy nights, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. There is also outdoor dining. Staff is great, friendly, and attentive. I gave food 4 stars because the burger was SO big I could barely fit it in my mouth and had to request more condiments because it was not enough to balance the GIGANTIC burger šŸ˜… Otherwise, I love it here and am a...
