We thought we’d try this place & once was too many times unfortunately. I came here & read some reviews before choosing it, reviews were mixed but leaned toward people liking it. So, First off I have to say the service was great, Carter was our waiter & he was perfect, absolutely the best thing we found there!! The margaritas were great but everything went downhill from there so unless you’re just going for a buzz I’d skip this place! I initially judge by the chips & salsa…the chips were very stale and omg the salsa came in the tiniest containers ever so unless we broke the chips up there was no way to dip into the sauce so right off they were starting off on the negative side, and to top that off the salsa itself was ok but not remarkable; the “queso” was obviously poured from a can of Rico’s cheese with zero added (make some effort!! take 1 minute and add some onion, peppers & chili powder at the very least), the guacamole was literally smashed Avacado on a plate (again, some effort please or call it what it is…avacado), I ordered a basic cheese enchilada plate because that’s hard to mess up, but a good enchilada contains real cheese not velvetta and that’s what I got sadly, my friend ordered sour cream/chicken enchiladas and she said frozen from the store are better. There was nothing at all inviting about the interior or exterior of the building & the only colorful thing there was the menu. We truly love some good Mexican food, but this was...
Read moreHands down (as of my 1st and only visit so far, will update when i go again on consistency of the food and service) the BEST Mexican food in GBT. 1st things 1st the salsa, that is always the best way to tell a Mexican food place - PERFECTO. SOOO YUMM. It was not super spicy (wish it was, but you know other white people gotta eat there too). I wanted to sample a few different, basic items and I was not in any way disappointed. I ordered the guac (normal ol guac), a combo plate with the taco and a cheese enchilada, and quesabirria. ALL were equally delicious. Rice and beans were both really good, just slightly salty, can happen to the best. I took my order to go, so I am not sure about the service but the food 10000 times better than Lost Pepes and El Ranch-no. I truly hope this place stays tasty and is consistent in quality and taste. Best of luck to this place. I was so hungry I forgot to take pics before I started eating.*I have now been back numerous times and I am very please to say that they are consistent in the quality of their food and service. Have yet to try something I didn’t like. Breakfast was very...
Read moreHad a late lunch. The dining area has several tables and offers a range of places to sit. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Service was prompt and courteous. The menu offers a range of choices, and portions were large and satisfying. I opted for carnitas with whole beans instead of refried beans and my wife had spinach enchiladas with refried beans and rice. The carnitas were great and the whole ( barracho) beans were some of the best I've ever had. Cooked with lots of onions, red bell pepper, poblano peppers and spices, the beans were good enough to eat as the entree for a meal. My wife's spinach enchiladas were filled with flavorful spinach and the white sauce was very good. Initial chips and salsa was good, with the salsa being low to medium heat with an interesting...
