TL:DR Expensive food. Don't sit outside if you have a schedule, you'll be sitting outside waiting for them to come back to check up on you. Waitress lacks time management. Scrambled eggs were overcooked. (Couldn't tell if they used bagged eggs to make the scrambled eggs)
Went with my family to eat here. Sat outside as it was nice outside that day. The chocolate chip pancake was delicious. Crispy and fresh taste. Wasn't too happy it was $5 dollars for one pancake itself. Been to several spots nearby that do more pancakes for that price. Ordered 2 scrambled eggs with cheese.($5) The cheese was just place on top of the scrambled eggs, and they were overcooked. The smothered homefries came out to $26 with the add on of scrambled eggs and their homemade hash. The hash was very good. The plate had alot of flavor and I was happy with that. We also ordered their berries and cream sweet bread ($16) 2 OJ ($6) and 1 Iced coffee for ($4.75). Total was $67.36
On top of that being expensive for the little amount of food, we were forgotten about. The brunch rush died down and it was around 2pm. People were coming in and out for Ice cream. We wanted to order a milkshake, another iced coffee and more OJ. 20 minutes went by and I had to get up and ask the waitress for more orange juice. I haven't had to do that anywhere else because they usually come around and make sure their customers are okay/ if they need anything. The lady came out only to give us our check. We were not happy waiting for them to come out to check up on them. We left a very low tip unfortunately due to the unprofessionalism the place had. Definitely will not be coming back to eat here. The bird did keep us company outside and it's nice of the establishment to leave a bowl of water for dogs to drink, just make sure the water isn't hot as it sat in the sun the whole time...
Read moreMy wife, our friends and I wanted try something new yesterday and we definitely did. We arrived to Carson’s Store at 1:59 (yes they close at 3 but we weren’t the last customers to arrive). We went into the store and stood up waiting for 5 mins. My wife then went up to the counter and the young girl told us we could sit anywhere so we did. We sat down and waited another 15 minutes before our friend went up to the counter again to let them know we were waiting. The girl at the counter assured us that they would be over. Another 10 minutes goes by and another family comes and sits down. They were immediately greeted, given menus and had their table wiped down. At this point, we had been there for 30 minutes without a greeting, menu or a clean table. We decided this place wasn’t worth the frustration. Our friends are people of color and it didn’t seem like they were welcomed there.. it’s funny as there is a sign about the wifi which read “no wifi, pretend it’s 1907 and talk to each other!” This place really gave off the 1907 vibe for sure. Really...
Read moreCute little diner, very nostalgic! I was really looking forward to a good experience. But Service was not up to par. Sat down to a dirty counter. Server came to take our drink order and went away and never returned. Another server came and we asked for our drinks. We finally got them after 10 minutes and only half of our drinks were delivered. Noticed that other patrons at 3 different tables received their food, but had no utensils to eat them with. One of the waitresses was seen behind the counter cutting up strawberries and eating some as she was plating them for a customer. Don’t sit at tables outside, we saw numerous customers come and go because they were not waited on. it’s only an 18 seat restaurant inside and they have three servers. There’s no reason why three servers couldn’t manage those tables efficiently. It seemed a lot of the focus was on “to go”orders and not the customers in the restaurant. To be fair to the kitchen staff, when the food did come out it was very good. They just need to work on the...
