The Monkey Bar — Restaurant in Grove

My friends and I were from out of state visiting and decided to try out a few bars. This bar was dead around 11pm, walked in was not greeted or aknowledged only 4 people in the bar. Used their restroom and decided not to stay for a drink because no one said a word to us. So we walked out the front door and all of a sudden was Chased by a female with a dog that cussed at us for using the bathroom and not staying for a drink didnt even get to Say a word before she slammed the door in our face. Not to mention she stood at the exit of the parking lot to throw trash and cuss some more at us. What a complete joke this bar was needless to say we decided not to return and see if it was busier...

Oh boy. From the outside? Looks pretty average. When you step inside though… it’s like a museum for tacky Irish decor, and I’m in to it.

Couple pool tables, shuffle board, owner/bartender was extremely attentive, coming round to the pool table to see if we needed another round, and he kept the juke box playing.

This is the best pub because of Tami and John make sure all who enter are treated like they’re in their home. Odie (the cat) wanders in & out. The wine is always high quality. The music varies by crowd selection but the sound system keeps it clear. People are friendly and you leave feeling like someone will remember you when you go back again. Truly a...
