Sextant Winery at the Edna Valley Tasting Room is an absolute gem located in the beautiful Edna Valley at the historic 'Old Edna' townsite. The wine was truly exceptional, and the experience was elevated by their fantastic gourmet deli. We enjoyed everything from artisanal cheeses and sandwiches to soups and freshly baked cookies that were simply divine! I recommend making a reservation, even though we managed to get one on the same day—it's worth planning ahead. We will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend you do too. Five stars!

Wine was good. However the tasting fees of $20 were a bit high. There is a deli in the tasting room and the food options were minimal with outrageous prices. The large charcuterie plate for 3 was $50 for 2 types of meat and 1 cheese selection, which were pre-packaged brands. Crackers were an additional cost. Both my husband and I are in the wine industry, but they would only comp 1 of us. The wine was average; nothing new or exciting.

Don't come just for food, since there's no dedicated chef if the wine service is busy you don't get food for over 30min. Cool atmosphere, but brings a wannabe-pretencious crowd. Tasty sandwiches tho.

Sharing our experience at Sextant Winery at the Edna Valley tasting room yesterday. I had recommended family members that were visiting from Boston, to go to the Sextant Winery tasting room in Edna Valley during their visit. While at the tasting room they were about to purchase approximately a case to a case and a half of wine, when it was discovered that their tasting fee would not be waived for the purchase.

This policy caused a negative experience and resulted in the loss of that purchase. Additionally, another local who was with us, was going to purchase wine as well but because of this policy also decided not to purchase.

I really don’t understand what is being accomplished by this policy. They lost 2 purchases (at least $200 to $300 or more) over two $20 tasting fees. This experience is not what I would expect from a Central Coast Winery. The atmosphere of the Central Coast is more relaxed, friendly, and not pretentious. This was not the atmosphere at Sextant Winery, it felt more like the pretentiousness of Napa or Sonoma. Which is why I, and most of who I know, avoid going to Napa or Sonoma, they have gotten too big for their britches and have alienated the local consumer.

There are many excellent wineries here in the Central Coast (approx. 250) and we chose to come to Sextant. Next time, we'll choose elsewhere.

I sincerely hope Sextant will re-consider this policy, resist becoming like Napa/Sonoma and return to the Central Coast charm we all...

We have been members for well over a decade and have always loved the great varietals Craig and Team come forth. Everything from elegant to bold and my wife and I have several favorites. We were just coming back from the Dog Surfing Championships in Pacifica and figured we had to stop at the tasting room in Paso. We have known Rick in Edna for years and many of the other tasting professionals, however on this trip we were blessed to have Christina. Her knowledge, tasting notes, and service was fantastic. Definitely made us feel like part of the family. The Meat and Cheese Board was one of the best we have had, which we paired with some great wines! What an amazing treat on a...
