¡Sorprendentemente delicioso!
American English Translation: Surprisingly delicious! Thank you to the waitstaff — especially Bárbara from Guánica — to Carlos López, supervisor Guillermo Román, and Chef Angelo Santana for their kind attention and for giving us such a wonderful experience on July 28th at Las Palmas in Guánica. And thanks to Yuliza for her guidance and help.
We were truly impressed. The food was outstanding! My kids loved their grilled chicken breast with rice, beans, and fried sweet potatoes. My personal favorite was the pork tenderloin stuffed with sweet plantains in a sweet sauce, served with “mamposteao” rice and pigeon peas — absolutely delicious! And my husband’s grouper-stuffed mofongo in garlic sauce was exquisite.
The desserts were also memorable!
Just last week, we stayed at El Conquistador Hotel in Fajardo, PR. While the property is grand and newly renovated, the dining experience in their restaurants — the local cuisine at Ventanas (better than Bono) and the so-called Spanish spot Bono — unfortunately fell flat. Despite the warm, friendly service typical of Puerto Rico, the food lacked flavor.
At Las Palmas, however, we had a truly rich and flavorful experience, and that’s why we felt compelled to write this review.
Wishing you all continued success...
Read moreI didn't care for the food at all. Small portions and, in my opinion, expensive for what you get. Salad was OK, drinks delicious but vegetables didn't have any flavor, no seasonings and the yuca was so plain, they didn't put any love cooking it, I wonder if was supposed to use the salt myself... We had to order some nachos to get full and even the tortilla chips weren't fresh, they were hard to bite and cold. I expected more for a restaurant inside of such a nice resort, specially becuse there's no other options walking distance to eat, so you need to get a car and drive to the closest town. The location is unbeatable, stunning views, but I won't come back for a long stay if the food service doesn't change.
The restaurant was full and customers looked happy, so I wonder if our dinner was...
Read moreThis is the third time I visit this place, and every time has gotten worse and worse. Service today was horrible. Waiter would bring drinks whenever he felt like it. Add to it, that we had to wait forever for the food, something that I would have accepted, if it wasn’t for the fact that they served another family, that arrived way after us, more promptly. There is more, I ordered a churrasco, and never, I mean never in my life had a tasted something so bad!! Bland taste, poorly cooked and condimented; certainly murdered the name of churrasco. I dare to say an Argentinian would have scream at the sight and taste of this plate. To top it off, there were more flies that in a dumpster site in a third world country!!! To sum it up, I had the worst service; the funny thing about it, I still had...
