â 1 out of 5 stars Disappointed, disrespected, and definitely not returning.
I came in hoping for a warm, comforting local mealâand left feeling embarrassed and completely unwelcome.
I'm an elder with hearing loss, and I asked the server (who was visibly impatient and unkind) what the buffet options were. I was told âBistekâ and âPot Roastâ with no eye contact, no explanation, and a strong âhurry upâ vibe. Assuming the Bistek was beef (as it usually is), I chose it along with BBQ chicken.
When I politely asked if the chicken came skinless, the sharp reply was just: âNo.â I then clarified the type of meat in both the Bistek and the Pot RoastââItâs pork,â she snapped. I donât eat pork. I explained that I didnât know, but she said nothingâjust swapped my plate with visible annoyance.
I asked again (respectfully) about skinless chicken, and she raised her voice in front of everyone: âTHE CHICKEN ALL HAVE SKIN!â It was humiliating.
At checkout, I asked if the meal came with macaroni salad. She didnât answerâjust stared at me with frustration and finally said, âI ASKED YOU if you wanted macaroni salad!â
Maybe she had. Maybe I didnât hear. But instead of showing kindness or understanding, she chose ridicule.
I didnât even get to eat the food. I left with my head high, but my heart heavy. This place serves more than foodâit serves a cold reminder of how far weâve drifted from basic human decency.
đ The food might be âcomfort,â but the service is anything but. đ” Respect your elders. Train your staff to lead with kindness. đ I...
Read moreInflation hit hard, or maybe the server just wasnât in the mood that day. She was very abrupt and didnât even ask for my first choice, just said, âFried chicken and what else?â I hadnât even mentioned wanting fried chicken. There was no one else in line, but she rushed me. For $16, I got two pieces of fried chicken (decent size), two shrimp patties, a very small portion of tinaktak with just ground beef and only two pieces of green beans, no sauce, and one scoop of white rice. I usually share my lunch from Dug Out, but that day I could only share my chicken and tinaktak(Iâm sorry, it was bland that day) but the finadene...
