The location is great and the atmosphere is really enjoyable — the southern touch in the music adds a nice vibe. The service is honestly the highlight of this place; the staff, especially the girls working the floor, are attentive, kind, responsive, and super friendly. They’re the reason this isn’t a one-star review.
Unfortunately, the food fell short. For all the hype I’ve seen on social media, the smoky flavor just isn’t there. The kankán had good portion size and texture, but no real flavor. The chimichurri was missing that citrus kick that usually makes it pop, and the dino rib — while high quality and meaty — also lacked flavor. The tomato ceviche salad was the one standout, fresh and flavorful, and really elevated the plate. The carne ahumada was okay, but still missing the smokiness and tenderness that would make it memorable. I ordered ribs and mac & cheese for my son but didn’t try them, so I can’t speak on those.
To put it plainly — if this food was being served at The Masters in Augusta, I don’t think it would fly. I’ve had BBQ in Memphis, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky, and unfortunately, this just doesn’t compare. Overall, it’s an “okay” experience — great service and atmosphere, but the food needs serious improvement in flavor to live up...
Read moreThis used to be La Jicotea, but now everything’s painted black, with new ceiling fans and a TV at the bar… looks like Batman himself handled the remodel. I ordered a platter for four to-go, and while everything was good, the brisket and ribs were so ridiculously delicious I considered hiding them so I wouldn’t have to share. The wings and smoked meats were decent, but next to that brisket, they felt more like cameos in a movie starring beef. The four of us ate happily—no need for a ruler to divide portions or a duel over the last piece, which already felt like a win. My food was ready in 23 minutes, which is pretty fast for a place that was more packed than the mall right before Christmas. Not gonna lie—the parking situation is total chaos, with cars parked like it’s a free-for-all and noise everywhere… but honestly, the food makes the stress worth it.
Plus, they’ve got Wi‑Fi and contactless payment, so you can enjoy modern comforts while eating like you’re deep in Texas with a Puerto...
Read moreHonestly I was expecting more, you are missing the smoke flavor, it has some, but you are not there, I love smoke BBQ, your brisket was tasteless. Don't get me wrong, you can get it to were is needed, just taste your food, season your meat. Your prices are not bad at all. The Dyno ribs were good, but again was missing the smoke taste. Presentation was great, my plate came with a very small portion of brisket, that was all fat, the server requested another order for me, that one came out beautiful. The mac and cheese were not good, they had a funny taste. I know you can make it better, not just a good promotion on the...
