Went to Rio Nido Roadhouse on a whim. We were staying at a nearby campground but wanted a pool for the kids one day as opposed to the river. I suggest calling ahead as when we got there, we were told the pool was closed for campers. Luckily, that was a mistake, and we didn't have to wait long. The food and service was just so so, but everyone who helped us was nice. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich, and it was so bland! It needed seasoning or something. It had pesto, cheese and onions but it was missing something. My brother had a burger and he said it was great! I liked that they had a good kids menu. They even offered carrots and peanut butter which was a great option. The baby pool was freezing, but the bigger pool was the perfect temp! It was a hot day and pool was fantastic and refreshing. Plus, they let you use life vests and pool toys that were there so my kids were happy about that. The place got a little messy as the day went on, there were towels and sandals strewn about, but it was a little too much that I had to sit next to a rolled up diaper that sat next to us. I mean I am glad it's not a rigid place with rules but I was like sheesh people were so messy. All in all it was a very chill atmosphere that had a small town feel, loved the accessibility off food, drinks, cocktails and ice cream. I'm 100% going back!

Well, I like to try local places to eat. Sadly I was disappointed with this place, I watched my burger being cooked. Sat at a window seat that looks right into the kitchen and grill, I watched the cook put my burger on the grill. Which she did before starting the fries, I asked for medium rare with no blood. I expected a little pink , but it was so over cooked it was dry. But after watching the cook, I wasn’t so hungry anymore. She had no gloves on, was using her phone. And going back and forth to the bar and back to the kitchen, touching things I probably didn’t want to know. It took about 20 mins for the whole experience, I may be picky. But I’m not a fan of a cook playing with her phone, going back and forth out of the kitchen. Just not very sanitary, the lettuce tomato etc was so beat and soggy it was sad. I could see through the tomato because it was paper thin, so between the horrible condiments and her hands places you shouldn’t do while cooking. I won’t be back, really sad. I try all the local food places in town every once in a while, this is my second attempt at getting food here. And again, I won’t be giving them a third chance. It was dead in the restaurant part, but the bar was hopping. Must make most there money from the bar, or drunk people don’t care much about there food.

I have been asked by a DJ local to the area (my girl Bonesurf!) to come out and sell my stuff there as a vendor when she has events, and I LOVE the Rio Nido Roadhouse!! They are like any house--as a guest, mind your P's and Q's, no outside food or drink no coolers and ABSOLUTELY NO MOVING THE FURNITURE! 😉 but like any great host, they have *amazing* food and drinks, sweet bartenders and servers, and although I only drink Diet Coke, they keep em coming and they are cold! It's worth the 2 hour drive (which is just picturesque and naturally beautiful as it is) and I ALWAYS can't wait to go back! See you soon, Roadhouse! 🙂 (just going to the Rio Nido Roadhouse alone makes me want to move to this lovely quaint community!)

HORRIBLE ALLERGY EXPERIENCE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE HORRIBLE FOOD

Do not come here if you have allergies! Do not come here if you like good food!

I came here with a group of my friends, and was met with the most hostility and incompetence I've ever experienced at a restaurant. This is my first Yelp review, I normally don't write these. This was so bad that I had to write one. I have a severe peanut and nut allergy and very nicely asked the waitress (believe her name was Danielle) if it would be safe to order a BLT. In my experience on this earth, a BLT has never had a nut in it, but I always ask because there's always a cross contamination risk. She responded aggressively and honestly confused about my question, already saying she couldn't guarantee anything. She then left to go to the kitchen and came back 15 minutes later, only to come back more aggressively to tell me "they didn't want to get sued" and that they simply could not guarantee that there weren't nuts in my BLT. They also told me not to have anything from the fryer. I calmly asked if she could just say they would make SOME effort to not lather peanut butter on my BLT. That's ALL I needed to hear. She kept saying things like "we can't promise that" and "you're making me nervous." To be honest, I became quite nervous.

I made the call to order the BLT anyways because I didn't want to have to go to another restaurant after almost an hour of sitting there. Ultimately all the food came at LEAST an hour later, two orders were messed up, we got an extra order of something that we didn't ask for, and had to deal with weird aggressive comments from the waitress.

The food was mediocre at best, my BLT was cold and my friend had the worst black bean burger she had ever had. She actually got sick from it. It was honestly an awful experience from start to finish. This establishment needs allergy protocols in place ASAP. This establishment needs to have a conversation with its staff about how to respectfully interact with customers. I will never be returning and wanted to write this review so that people with allergies could avoid it. I'm honestly considering reporting to the...
