Spencer Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Guilford

I really hate giving negative reviews, especially for locally owned places. The eggs benny said it came with 3 eggs and there were two options, small was $7.95 and large was $12.99. Always on a budget, I expected the large to be more than we could eat (especially at $13). My wife and I each ordered the small and received just one egg on half of an English muffin, two thinly sliced pieces of what looked like square lunch meat ham, and the other half of the English muffin as our toast. It was a big surprise seeing as we've paid the same at other places and gotten a full eggs benny with homefries. Our server was wonderful and saw how disappointed we were. She asked me several times if I wanted something more, but I didn't want to order anything else at those prices. We like the atmosphere, but as the last reviewer stated, definitely...

Had breakfast here about a week ago and forgot to say what a great breakfast we had. The wife had eggs Benedict the hollandaise sauce was the best we ever had. The icing on the cake no pun intended was the baked goods he makes all of his own bakery items including the Donuts! Had one to share while we drank our coffee and ended up getting a dozen to go, the glazed are fantastic! We will be back for more Donuts...

Best breakfast and baked good in the area. Eggs Benny were excellent, French toast made with their cinnamon swirl bread; enough to taste the cinnamon, was great, and locally made breakfast sausage was far superior to anything you get in the market. We bought a dozen of their delicious donuts...
