On January 27 at 12:30 PM, my mom and I visited the Pass Christian Waffle House for a late breakfast, and I need to share the disappointing experience we encountered.
Upon entering, we noticed that the restaurant was relatively empty. We chose a small booth next to the bar and waited about 10 minutes for our waitress. A different waitress approached, took my mom's drink order, and completely overlooked me. Not a great start.
While we waited for our drinks, I observed our waitress pull a trash bag out of a can and stuff it into another one nearly up to her elbow. To my shock, she turned around and served food to the table behind us. At that point, I knew I had to say something. I got up and asked to speak to the manager privately. She informed me that she was busy on the grill and didn’t have time for me. I understand the demands of working in a bustling kitchen, but being dismissed like that—twice—was unacceptable.
Since the manager wouldn’t address my concerns, I spoke to the waitress directly, clarifying that she would not touch my food without washing her hands first. She acknowledged me, but it was evident that she didn’t grasp the gravity of the situation.
The lack of response from management was astounding, especially considering there were only two pieces of sausage on the grill. She couldn't spare a moment to handle a customer complaint? This experience left me thoroughly disappointed with Waffle House.
Fortunately, the area has plenty of other dining options, and I won’t be returning to this location.
Thank you, Waffle House, for my...
Read moreThese places are like all over this area and I was not interested but seriously, I'm SIX days into my vacation and this is first REAL MEAL of my travels, disappointingly. But this place hit a HOME RUN --------- scrambled eggs with cheese were PERFECT (not runny like yesterdays Cracker Barrel place), the sausage gravy and biscuit was SO GREAT I took every drop I couldn't finish home to snack on - I even found the two sausage patties were perfectly cooked. But what was completely unexpected was my friend I was visiting insisted (and regretted) on my tasting her blueberry waffle. I mean, it's a waffle, no big deal since I was a toddler. They apparently make them with FRESH BLUEBERRIES and OH MY STARS what a taste - and WHAT A SMELL. Ended up eating a full quarter of hers and I'm getting more on the drive home to NY. Seriously these don't need butter or syrup - and no, I don't joke about food. She ordered the waffle with extra blueberries ---- so there IS that, but this place is TOTALLY worth a stop even if only for the waffle. I'm a 57yo Waffle House Convert. Of course there's none in NY but I know how to drive to Ohio! No wonder they are all over this Gulf coast!!!! The server's name was Amber ------------ if you stop in there, thank her for me, as I Know I won't be headed back down here...
Read moreJust had somewhat of a meal here..... i honestly don't know where they hired the cook . They brought my wife and I a cold waffel and some bacon (wife's food) cold. She ordered some eggs and bacon and grits. Then 10 minutes later brought me a burnt hamburger. And about 5 minutes after that my wife's eggs and (some old grits tested spoiled.) Lady server said they were made within last 24 hours. ?????? Who does that?. Honestly our server smelled like weed and I think the cook was probably high also. A little Common sence goes a long way. I don't know who runs this place but your late night (1130 pm) crew is in need of a serious overhaul. We only went here because it's close to where we are staying. Honestly we will not bee going back to this location. It's worth driving a little farther to another location than to have bad service and cold and old food. If I could give less than one star....
