Marvelous Cakes Brazilian Bakery — Restaurant in Hackberry

I am going to go back and edit this review with more details of the horrible service and product. Also have several guests of the party who are going to make comments on here and also on Facebook. For now I will say that the first couple years when I agreed that my wife could use this lady for our daughter‘s birthday cake the cake was good. That was because the lady did not have any clients. Now the lady has a shop and a lot of clients and she filled the cake with some really cheap fat stuff instead of what is supposed to be inside of the cake. My stomach hurt the whole next day after eating this cake and people at the party did not like it because of the fat inside it was this cheap cheap cheap Filler that she used instead of what she was supposed to use like she did the other years when she needed the client/money. Worse than that, her husband was 45 minutes late to our party and thePhotographer had to stop taking photos of the party and go back and take photos of the cake like we’re supposed to be done before. That means we lost out on a decent amount of photos that we paid for because she sent her husband and he showed up late with a bad attitude telling us that he was doing us a favor by delivering the cake. He called us 30 minutes after he was supposed to be there asking for directions which we already provided to his wife. That meant that I had to stop doing what I was doing and give this guy directions which I could not go because I was trying to direct a party. Furthermore his attitude did not help any. I only recommend using this service if nobody is going to actually eat the cake and if it’s OK if they cake arrives 45 minutes late and it’s OK if the person bringing it has a horrible attitude and makes you stop what you’re doing to give them directions and try to understand the broken English. The first couple years the lady wood call my wife after the party and ask how the cake was and she try to get referrals. This year she did not call because she knew that it was a disaster and she did not care nor did she need referrals apparently. If I could give this a -10 I would. We definitely did not get what we paid for, and I would pay to not have had missed those photos that the photographer would have taken if you did not have to stop what he was doing and go back and shoot theParty details with the cake in the background and the cake all over again. My cake turned out very beautiful but the cake was Very dry. I could not taste the flavors at all I had strawberry and vanilla I was really looking forward to the strawberry cake! I got worried about how the cake would taste because when I went to pick up the cake I bought two cupcakes and when I tasted the cupcake it did not taste good. The bread seemed like it was made out of water, Imagine a recipe that calls for milk but somebody substitutes it for water-it just gives it a bad taste that’s how the bread seemed to me. So I went to Kroger and bought a slice of red velvet cake to compare it to the red velvet cupcake from Marvelous bakery and everyone agreed the Kroger cake was a lot better, it was richer and had more flavor. The cake seemed like it had a greasy taste, I never tasted the flavors of the cake, I could buy a box of cake from the store and have more flavor than this. No one at my party liked the cake. I have the whole top tier left, which is all torn up because I tried calling y to get in the center of the cake to try to see if that part was moist...

Super delicious and fresh cookies! I was craving something sweet after getting my hair done and decided to stop by. The lady behind the counter I think was a little startled by me entering the store as it was a pretty quiet afternoon. I told her that it was my first time there and asked her about the cookie sizes and flavors. She told me several of them and also explained that it takes 20 minutes for them to bake as they want them to be fresh for every customer. I told her that this was okay as I had a quick errand to run.

By the time I got back my cookies were ready. And because she described the size being bigger than they were she gave me an extra chocolate chip. Wow, the cookies are delicious. Not super sweet and just the right size where you just want one or two. I definitely will be back...
