Los Cabos San Lucas Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Hallettsville

Walking in, the place had a borderline bad smell. The staff seated us and we ordered bean and cheese nachos. Chips and salsa were good as any other Los Cobos, but the nachos arrived and they had a sour smell. I thought it to be sharp cheddar that may have been used, but wasn't sure and it just wasn't right or tasted right. Out of all of the Los Cobos locations, this one needs help. Wait staff doesn't communicate well or show any expression when doing so. The food, well, it too needs helps. Food is to smell good, not sour. The sweet tea was very good. Tables and seats were clean, along with the restrooms. Looking into the kitchen area, it was not the cleanest I've ever seen, but definitely not the worst either. It would be best for the owners of this particular location to take notes from the other locations like them, because all of their other locations are outstanding. I soon hope to see future improvements at this location...very soon! Personally, at this moment, I would not recommend this particular location to anyone until further...

One of the workers was in the bathroom with her apron on. When I came out of the stall she was leaning against the sink area with her apron touching watching a video on her phone. She then left without washing her hands. She then was seen making tortillas. When I reported this the first person I spoke to simply said “Ok.” When I commented that he did not seem too concerned he said he wasn’t the manager so he couldn’t do anything anyway. Why he did not offer to get the manager is another topic, but I then asked to speak with the manager who did say he would “speak with” the woman. I can’t say I was very confident in the outcome of all this. So, we won’t be going back. I truly don’t like giving poor reviews and unless there is something particularly egregious I generally don’t. Our waiter was not very friendly but we brushed it off because you never know, maybe they’re short-staffed.. So we got our drinks and ordered. He never came back to check on us👎 Then, halfway through our meal, a roach crawled across the table! I caught our waiter’s attention and motioned him to come over, showed him the roach (which was hanging out on the side of my glass). He caught it with a napkin and then just walked away, I guess to tell his manager?? So, needless to say, we were done at that point. No one came to apologize or even said anything to us. It was like it was no big deal. We did not finish our meal, we stood up to leave. By that time the manager was across the room and simply motioned to us that we didn’t have to pay, but still no apology or anything..so we just left! We will not...
