Hungry Tiger — Restaurant in Hallsville

We noticed this place a few weeks ago on a roadtrip. Yesterday, we decided to give it a go. We got there pre Sunday lunch rush, which was nice, so plenty of seating to choose from. Establishment was clean and service was nice.

The menu has a nice variety to it, and there were several lunch specials to choose from. Our food arrived quickly, and was fresh & hot. The portion sizes were very generous for the price paid. We ordered an appetizer, mains off the specials board, and upgraded our sides. Our appetizer, catfish nuggets, was absolutely delicious. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with upgraded mushrooms and my partner had the pepper jack burger with upgraded fried pickles. My wrap was very good and packed full! The burger was OK. The sides, although cooked nice, was a bit bland. That was a tad disappointing because they looked really good. We both opted for unsweet tea and it was pretty bad. I don’t recommend the tea at all.

The food was mediocre and usually to make up for that you have a really spunky, nice waitress, or someone who at least smiles. She never smiled once until my husband gave her two dollars in her little tip jar and she messed up our order she gave One of my kids orders to another table brought us our food and let him sit with no plate for about 10 minutes to wait on his. Did I mention he is six years old? I don’t know for me usually in Small towns like that even at least get a waitress that makes the experience worth it. Went in today because I always drive by there and wanted to give it a try. Sit there for 10 minutes and never even got asked if I wanted something to drink. There was one table of 6 women in the cafe. A girl was standing around doing absolutely nothing and the guy that was working was talking to the 6 women. Not sure how they have a great review.
