Well where to begin… I play the Signature course when I play here. The Ball machine is routinely out of balls before my round so no warm up. To get an accurate read on the greens one should putt from the parking lot, then the rough for a few strokes, followed up by putting on the actual practice green and to cover your bases roll some on the fringe of the practice green… it doesn’t hurt to try some on the lumpy tee boxes too… after that place a false hole in the parking lot to chip to this will simulate the greens best when hitting chip, pitch and Approach shots. If you do have the opportunity to get some yellow balls from the dispenser bring a few beach towels when practicing your tee shots if hitting off the mats. You will want to place these under your feet balled up to simulate every tee box. After you’ve almost rolled an ankle hitting your tee shot plan to land the ball on the front edge of every green. Any Trajectory shot is going to get launched off the green so plan to find all the sprinkler heads 20 yards in-front of the greens. Your best option is to land directly on the sprinkler head and bouncing on to have a chance of holding the green. If you find yourself in the sand trap a basic splash shot will work just fine remember your practice from the parking lot chipping session and it’ll work out. The sand is the only positive of this experience. Now time for the flat stick… my favorite part of the game! IF IM ON ANY OTHER COURSE! The only thing consistent is the inconsistency. I am a firm believer in the course should dump a majority of revenue into the greens. That is where people score that is where people get excited and want to come back. I grew up playing a course that is a PGA Tour stop… there the balls hold… last week I played a place that is 1/4 the green fee price of that course AND THE GREENS HELD THE FREAKING BALL! I practice religiously, I play off a single digit handicap I spin all my wedges at 10,000-11,000 RPMs and NOTHING WILL HOLD THESE GREENS. The crossroads is significantly better maintained than the signature course. You at least are rewarded for hitting the green there where every ball that touches the concrete pads on signature rejects the golf ball. The golf course is plain and simple UNFAIR. PUNCH AND WATER YOUR GREENS!!!!
See you next week Majestic Bloaks I...
Read moreHad Easter brunch at the first seating of the day (10:00). Price was about $50/person after taxes/fees. What a disappointing experience! 1: Poor organization/management. Was no guidance as to when food was ready and we just had to guess as a couple tables decided to go check things out. The actual setup of the buffet was chaotic and crowded. There were two lanes for hot food with different options in each lane (but this was not labeled), so people were entering one lane and realizing there was no traditional breakfast food and then backtracking to the other lane. Or, if you wanted food from both sides, you had to leave the buffet area and go back out amongst people’s tables. The area overall was small to get around people and to the side tables that had other cold food and meat/seafood options. The buffet was set up between dining rooms, too. Can’t imagine how disorganized it would have been once the second seating started coming in with people trying to squeeze through the buffet area just to get to the line. 2: The food was subpar/bad. Most “hot” items were either lukewarm or room temp at best. The bacon was barely cooked and slimy/clumped. The sausage looked anemic. The roast beef was sliced paper thin and was mediocre. There was NO HAM. They didn’t put toppings out for the waffles (which were sugary/gritty) until most people had been through the line. Everything seemed like it had been previously frozen and partially reheated - nothing from scratch. 3: Drinks from the bar were fine. Bloody Marys did have a good amount of liquor. Coffee was served in a to-go Starbucks cup? 4: Our waiter Eli was very personable and did check on us. His attentiveness is NOT reflected in this 1-star rating as we had no issues with him and appreciated his service. Would have been disappointed if we’d only paid $20/person for this. Remember coming here with family years ago and it was a nice place for brunch. Not anymore....
Read moreMy family of 8 attended the mother's day brunch here on Sunday, and I am not one to bring up a bad meal I usually just let it go but... It definitey was such a bummer. Mothers deserve more on such a special day. The food was so cold... The 2 sausages I tried were inedible because of the temp, the eggs were watery, the food was just extremely disappointing and honestly I was nervous serving any of it to my toddler. She refused all of it thankfully, and the girl is not a picky eater the only person who enjoyed the food was my 90+ yrs old grandma who cannot waste a meal because of her depression era mentality. She couldn't believe my husband and I let the staff collect our plates because the plates were full of food (inedible). I had coffee and a bite of a croissant. Everything else I grabbed was just too inedible to want to try. The bacon was swimming in grease and limp. Literally too afraid to eat any of it. Definitely did not get my $40 worth... Nor did anyone at our table, sadly. I feel like i could eat better at McDonalds. My parents were married here, and it was supposed to be special. It was like pulling teeth to get beverages served. We always tip 20% plus no matter the service, but honestly it didn't feel deserved and I wish we wouldn't have left a good tip. My mother has spoken to the manager and couldn't even get sympathy, instead she said "well it sounds like you won't be coming back". Who says that??? My mom is the kindest person ever- this infuriated us all. She claimed that we were the only ones to say that the experience was not good... Well, that's not true just look at reviews. We aren't asking for a hand out, we are asking for sympathy. It was mother's day, a special day. To be rude and dismiss someone's experience... Just tacky. The cigarette smell on the employees was also top notch. I hope they can...
