I've been to this place twice since the COVID19 crisis. The wait time i was quoted each time was an hour plus, but the first tine they called back advising the order was ready. This was at dinner rush and along with all the restrictions we are dealing with now so I won't take wait time into account for this review . Both times I got a pie(one bacon, one plain) and mozzarella sticks. Food was excellent, albeit a tad too salty for my personal tastes. Mozzarella sticks suffered from having to transport them back home, and are probably better if you eat there. The pie's crust is really what makes it although the sauce is also good. I'd definitely recommend trying this place. My only reason for not giving five stars is the staff. More specifically one person who I'm not sure if he is the main chef/pie maker or the owner(or both). He was not rude to any of the patrons present but he was extremely rude to the servers/counter girls working both times i was there. Again, this was dinner rush on the weekend so I can understand his frustration. It was busy and it sounded like there was a lot of confusion regarding the orders, but taking it out on your coworkers is probably the least productive options you can choose. Highly recommend checking...
Read moreThought I would try this place since I live close by. First off, the prices in the flyer I received in my mail just two days earlier were wrong. I ordered three large pizzas and a Cobb salad. One plain, one with sausage, and I asked if they could make a tortellini pizza using Alfredo sauce.
When I went to pick the order up I was charged 98 dollars. After looking at the receipt it seemed I had been charged incorrectly. My Tortellini pie had cost me $39. I was charged 17.45 for a full large cheese pie, then 17.45, the price of a Fettuccine Alfredo dinner, and the an extra 3.00 for the tortellini topping.
When I questioned the charge the owner told me that the cream was expensive and that it was a special order. Not sure how they justify charging anyone $39 dollars for a pizza. Even their most expensive specialty pies are only in the upper $20’s. Either way he defended that ridiculous price. Needless to say I won’t be back. Actually I have had pizza at many places in Sussex Co., these were not all that great. The overly thin crust doesn’t support the topping. Even on a plain pie. As for my $39 tortellini pizza, Franks does a much better version and for...
Read moreTL:DR - It was fine, but no traditional Sicilian slices.
Went in to get some take out on the way home from work. It wasn't too busy, so I could go right up to the counter. When I asked about getting a slice of Sicilian, they told me they don't make it - they make something called Nonna's Classic pie. So I got a slice of that, and a slice of plain pizza.
If you pay cash, they don't charge you tax. If you pay with a card, they charge you tax, and a credit card fee. Which is kind of ... weird.
The plain slice of pizza was good. It was exactly what you should expect from a plain ol' slice of cheese pizza. It was a little larger of a cut than usual, which was nice.
The "Sicilian alternative" was ... fine? I guess? The cheese is on the bottom, and the sauce is on the top. There's also a bit of Parmesan sprinkled on top of that. The crust is much thinner than a Sicilian slice. Selling it as a Sicilian substitute is not accurate. I would not get it again, because ... well because it's not what I wanted.
Again, overall this place was fine. If I want to get some NJ-average pizza in a pinch,...
