Sweet little local bakery with welcoming atmosphere
CanelĂ©:âââââ Best calele ever tried. Crispy on the edge, chewy outside, soft&moist inside. Little hint of burned sugar gives you foodgasm. Love it.
Bluberry tart & lemon tart:ââââ Better than fruit tarts from regular grocery store, similar to more expensive grocery stores like whole foods or wegman's. Generous portion of bluberry and neat lemon cream, pie crust is good too. Exactly what you expect from a good tart, but not special.
Cake pop: âââ Too sweet for me but I guess that's how cake pop supposed to be. Good combination with black coffee. Olympic decoration was very cutd.
Macaroon: ââââ Average. Coque was not chewy enough for my taste
Blueberry scone: â I really wanted to go back to the store and ask for refund if the weather was not that hot. Too rubber-y to be a scone, to dense to be a croissant either. Minimum scent of blueberry, the scone itself was even a little smelly. Don't know why.
Brioche:âââââ MMM-MMM-MMM! Would be my everyday breakfast or quick lunch if I was not diabetic. Perfectly balanced density&softness. Crispy crust, rock sugar on top is a very happy kick. Enjoy with black coffe or hot chocloate, you'll be in heaven...
Read morei ordered a cake from them back in october but unfortunately i wasnât able to leave a review then. i will admit the way the cake looked was beautiful and exceeded my expectations. but as you can see from the pictures, hardly anyone ate the cake because of how much sugar was in it. when i placed my order, i asked for less sugar being that my father is a diabetic and confirmed with them which icings to use for less sugar. i was told there would be less sugar, but it ended up tasting too sweet. it was so sweet to the point where it felt like i was chewing sugar when eating the icing. the cake also tasted really old, like it had been baked for a week or something and then icing was slapped onto it. on some parts of the cake, it was more brown than the rest. itâs a shame that i paid so much money only for it to turn out so bad⊠definitely not ordering from them again (since i canât respond to reviews, i did mention my fatherâs diabetes. i spoke to someone on the phone about it before i officially placed my order. i wouldnât have chosen the icing that i did had i not spoken to someone on the phone about it. i called before i placed my order to confirm a few things, the sweetness of the icing being...
Read moreI walked into KK Sweets today and unfortunately had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences. The clerk never acknowledged me, no greeting, no âIâll be right with youâ and instead carried on a full personal conversation with another customer for at least six minutes before even taking her order. When she finally finished, she walked to the back to get another clerk to assist me, again without a single word of acknowledgment.
If I hadnât been craving flourless chocolate cake, I would have left sooner, only to be told by the younger clerk that they were out. To be fair, this is not a reflection of the owner. Iâve visited KK Sweets twice before, and both times the staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful. They also carry great vegan products, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today, and sadly, itâs the one that will stay with meâŠ.I will not be back.
