El Camino Real — Restaurant in Hamilton

Our visit this evening for dinner at El Camino Real in Hamilton was wonderful as always the food is fantastic as well as the service and the prices it is our favorite restaurant the owners are extremely friendly personable and very likeable we go there not only for the good food but for the people that work there because we frequent the restaurant often and have grown acquainted with the owner and his family and the employees and it's always enjoyable there's usually a wait because it is so popular but that is never a problem because we get in so quickly there was not an empty table in there and there was 6 of us waiting to eat and I would estimate our wait time was only 10 minutes our food arrived in a very short period of time and though every booth and table was occupied we were treated as if we were the only customers and so was everyone else we love El Camino Real and will continue to support their business we are so lucky to have them in Hamilton Illinois wishing them much success...

Every fall we like to venture from Normal IL for the scenic drive along the river and pick a spot for lunch. This year we ended up at El camino real, and we were not disappointed. Our host/server was very pleasant, and attentive. The decor was typical, festive, and restaurant appeared clean. The obligatory crisp, warm chips and excellent mild salsa were a nice start, with entrees following in a timely manner. Our two oldest kids loved their dishes, and remarked that this was now their favorite Mexican restaurant. Wife and I had carne asada tacos, and enchiladas, both were excellent....

For being in random town, IL, this place was surprisingly good. The complimentary chips were fresh and warm, the salsa was delicious. The horchata was super good. The cheese sauce on my carne asada burrito wasn't my favorite but everything else about it was good (though it was on the small side the yummy rice and beans made up for that). My husband loved his tacos and my kids ate all of their quesadillas and rice and beans. And the price wasn't awful. Overall very impressed. If we are in the area again we'll...
