The wait service was ok - I never have too much expectation. The restrooms were in disrepair. The entire joint looks like it is mid-renovation. The water and soda both tasted horrible/dirty, like something was in the water line. All of these issues could have been overlooked, but the food was also horrible. Literally, nothing on my plate was edible. The guacamole was essentially mashed up avocado - yes, I know that guac is essentially mashed up avocado. However, to successfully complete the transformation from fruit to guac, some onion, salt, pepper, tomato, lime, etc are needed. Simply dumping heated sour cream and melted cheese on top of dry-ish chicken rolled up in a tortilla does not a sour cream enchilada make. The beans... buy a better brand to reheat and dump on everyone's plate? My friends' meal experiences were no better than mine. Some locals came in and ordered food off of the American Selections portion of the menu, while raving about how good the food was at this establishment: burgers, hot dogs, chicken fried chicken, etc. Maybe that is the key to this "Mexican" restaurant? I so wanted to like this place because of Frida Kahlo. I left feeling sorry for Frida, my tummy and the friends that I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice presentation and mexican feel. Restaurant is clean everywhere. Our waitress for the day was the best there is. She was on top of everything and made sure everything was spot on. I regret not getting her name but she has short hair and glasses. Very good service! I recommend the fajita nachos as an appetizer, definitely in my top 3 favorite nachos, and ive had 100s of nacho meals for different places. As a meal i had 3 tacos al Pastor with a side of rice and beans rancheros. Tacos were a 7.5/10, meat was good and they give you pico de gallo, guacamole and cilantro! Many places dont give you cilantro which is a must! Rice id say was a 6.8/10, could have been better, good rice is hard to come by for some reason. Only downfall would be the beans rancheros. Couldnt say they were any good. Tacos are $2 each which is a steal compared to most places.
I must say, water had a very dirty taste, please check this!
Unlike many mexican restaurants they also have american food for those in your group who just want a burger. Overall a very good place to stop by if youre traveling or live in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I stopped here mid afternoon. The place was almost empty. Sarah seated us and received our drink order (water and sweet tea). We took a few minutes then Sarah returned and we ordered a single order of chicken fajitas which we split. Sarah explained which items came with our order (cheese, lettuce, pico, guacamole, sour cream, choice of beans and either flour or corn tortillas). The food arrived promptly and was delicious. We had no problems with our meal but would like to have had more grilled onions and guacamole. Both servings seemed smaller than we expected but the overall meal was plenty of food for both my wife and I. We would definitely go back again. Overall the food was good and Sarah did a wonderful job of checking in on us and taking care of any...
