Not the greatest experience for the first time.
With that said, there are not a whole lot of places to get breakfast in Hamilton, so we chose Huddle House, knowing it's going to a least be decent if not good. Subpar was more like it.
When we pulled up there were 2 cars in the parking lot. Perfect timing. Beat the rush. Our waitress got us menus and drink order, coffee and water. We ordered rather quickly with only one other table waiting for their food. Food was not coming out to anyone, coffee needed to be refilled and as we sat there we kept wondering what was going on. The cook was cooking but nothing coming hahah....15 min went by waitress passed our table multiple times and not once asked to refill our coffee that is sitting at the edge of the table indicating a refill please.
Restaurant started to get customers and more customers. We sat patiently waiting for our food still unsure of why even the table that order before us hasn't gotten their plate. Then the door-dasher comes in to pick up what the cook has been cooking for the past 15 min. Oh!!! Okay!!! Understand but there are also customers inside.
We finally get our food about 20-25 min later and a refill for our coffee. If one thing I know if the customers are waiting longer periods for their food you most definitely want to keep their coffee or drinks refilled. It wasn't busy enough and within the time frame between the 2 employees one of them should have filled the coffee. Ok now onto the food.
Food- A huge disappointment!!! Not only was the wait longer than expected but the food was cold. Husband got over-easy eggs, bacon, waffle and hashbrowns. His eggs were cold to the touch, the nice dippy yolks was cold not delicious EWE GROSS, his bacon was cold, brittle and burnt in places, no toast on his plate which it should have came with. The husband was NOT about to send it back since we had sat for so long.
My plate, the omelette was hot and ok, hashbrowns so hard I could not even chew them as well as cold to the touch. The husbands hashbrowns weren't as hard since they forgot them the first time around. I am supposing since the only hot item on our plates was the omelette that the cook was waiting for this. But I would assume we should cook the item that will take a little longer than say over-easy eggs first then the rest. I don't know if the cook was feeling a lot of pressure as the restaurant did fill up with 6 tables in a matter of min (after we had been there for 10) or if it was short staffing for that area or what. But the food was subpar for sure.
I understand this store is short handed and need us patrons to be kind especially right now and bare with them when they are understaffed. However, with being patient and understanding especially for the wait time I most definitely want hot food on my plate and food that is cooked correctly.
It was also Free Waffle Wed ( didn't know anything about it til the other waitress said something to her table) we were never told that and so we were charged for the waffle even with the purchase of $6 or more. We asked our waitress if we could fix that and she was unsure & had to ask. She did something to take something off our bill whether it was the waffle or something else I dont know. But she did rectify the situation with that mishap.
Would I visit again? As a new member of the community and knowing there isn't much of a breakfast presence in the area I will have to say I'm sure we will. Will it be soon? Unfortunately, no.
Unfilled drinks, Cold food and food not cooked correctly is not a win...
Read moreWe went to eat here tonight and we had these coupons that we were gonna use. Well the waitress came and took our drink order well I was in the restroom at the time by the way it was in need of a good cleaning anyway when I returned to the table the waitress came by to take our order. I handed her the coupons and told her that we wanted to get what was on those coupons and she asked if we wanted this or that, that was on the coupons after she got all of our orders she took the coupons and walked off with them. Well a bit later she brings us our food and we eat. When we finish our food she comes back and says Im sorry but i just found out that corporate said we dont do coupons no more day shift didnt notify me i just talked to my manager and she said there is nothing we can do about it. If the manager was told by corporate that they dont do coupons anymore im pretty sure her whole staff members knew about it but anyways there should've been a sign saying that they dont do coupons anymore and you dont wait till people get done eating and say something about it. There was something that could've been done about it. But, I feel like she didnt want to do...
Read moreFriendly people even when they are packed full of customer's. They let you take your time to figure out what you want. They always greet you with a smile and always say (welcome to Huddle House). Their food is great and you can order breakfast or anything else at anytime of the day or night it doesn't matter. Even when the waitresses are having to work a double shift, you will always get the same response no how tired they are with a smile and friendly. They always come around to make sure everything is alright and if you need anything even refills on your drinks. Some are single mom's providing for their kid's, some are there to help pay their way through school, just different reasons but for a good cause. So please give them time when they are packed and be friendly to them it does make a difference, and if you can leave a tip for them cause you never know they may need it. So pay it forward it does help go a long way's. I highly recommend eating there and the food is great and the employees are too as well, plus you can also tip the cook as well being on his/her feet over...
